  1. Amber Warning did just come up on my phone, imagine it's for the South West, pressed it and it said it was cancelled?
  2. I'm somewhat surprised that the Amber Warning hasn't been extended further into the South West England?
  3. In turn it should mean that more Southern/Western regions are somewhat spared from the worst winds.
  4. So, from where I live the peak wind speeds from about 6-8am this morning have been quite gusty, thankfully not powerful enough to make the rubbish bins go astray, besides a few branches that have come off, thankfully there's no damage around my local area. I think we have dodged the worst of it somehow.
  5. Are you actually in the right forum? What a load of rubbish.
  6. While that's indeed true, a lot of people aren't going to notice in the very early hours of the morning, if it was issued in the next hour or so a lot more people are going to take notice.
  7. It could be a sting jet, not to necessary say that's further north then forvast
  8. I must admit, I am honestly surprised that no red warnings have been issues, if there's no red warnings by 9pm then I can't see the Met Office issuing them at all.
  9. I'm sure that the 6z was slightly more north give or take. Still looks like Cornwall is going to take a absolute batting.
  10. Cornwall is also still in the firing line, possibly a red warning?
  11. So basically it's looking worse for Cornwall then of recent model runs?
  12. UK weather warnings WWW.METOFFICE.GOV.UK Met Office UK weather warnings for rain, snow, wind, fog and ice. Choose your location to keep up to date with local weather warnings. "During the early hours of Thursday northwesterly winds will develop across the Isles of Scilly and southwestern parts of England and Wales. Here, gusts are likely to reach 70-80 mph in some coastal areas and in a few coastal spots may exceed 85 mph. Inland, gusts of 65-75 mph are possible. A sharp cut-off is expected regarding how far northeast these very high winds extend, this boundary still uncertain and dependent on the exact track of Storm Ciarán. Wind will gradually start to ease from mid-morning. Very large waves could bring additional impacts to coastal areas."
  13. Seems a bit of a standoff between GFS/ECM over the low pressure position. ECM has it a far bit more south no?
  14. I do believe that it has slightly shifted more southwards. Seems the SW and South Coast may experience some brunt of the storm but France seems to be getting the most of it
