  1. Unfortunately, this very well might be the case, while obviously the more favouring places may very well get snowfall. The vast majority may just miss out, just isn't cold enough even with a SSW in play. While it's nice to look at eye candy, the matter of the fact is we are not in a favourable position, at least not yet.
  2. Indeed it's concerning, what are the long range forecasts showing at the moment. Considering that we had a dry summer, surely it's going to be a wet one?
  3. What a surprise, we got another hyped up winter cold spell. What's the saying again, get in the cold first and the snow will follow? Because that worked out quite well back in December lol
  4. I didn't see this earlier but I will activate this now. Many thanks
  5. For added security, would it be possible for some time in the future for the option of two factor authentication?
  6. Thank you! Didn't expect this snowfall all things considered. A bit of a bonus considering the little snowfall we had back in December.
  7. Some snow photos around my area, altitude makes a big difference, living outside of St Austell we got some snowfall, near the coast there's barely anything if at all. Note that I'm about 200m give or take above sea level I think. I can imagine that Penwithick, Steanlees and so on got snowfall as well. I haven't exactly measured but in my area, I would say it varies from a dusting to maybe 2-3cm? I post some videos of the snow falling around last night later on
  8. Well if we can't get any cold at least we can get some stormy weather at least!
  9. Tbh I did like the cold spell that we had for the first two or weeks of December. Of course it wasn't the snowy or exponential cold that some were looking for (in was in fact some of the coldest temperatures since 2010) The main thing was at least it was dry, quite nice that it wasn't raining days on end unlike what it's doing now.
  10. Wasn't the EC46 well liked not too long ago? Maybe I was dreaming of that because apparently it's useless now? I wonder why?
  11. It's basically what our climate is, mild but changeable at times, wet and windy sums up our winters these days. We should be thankful that we got such a cold period all things considered. It's a lesson as always that no matter what or how good backgrounds signals may be if it can't get into place then that's that.
  12. Let's be honest here, the GFS was "mostly" on its own. Despite the model uncertainty if you have just one model showing thing and a majority of models showing another then it's bound to be wrong in most cases. Game over for winter? By no means it's not but I would give it a yellow card.
  13. As much as we would like to believe it, it's nearly on it's own, think of as the 300 Film. The last spartan standing... Maybe just maybe the ECM might just continue to go towards the GFS output?
  14. It's a absolute shame, it seems that you're going to need a miracle just to temporarily get rid of them. I suppose it was good while that cold spell lasted, I don't think we get another one as long as the Euro heights stays there!
  15. As much as people have been enjoying that run, it's unfortunately a outlier and little to no support from other models.
  16. You can even see that a part of the vortex has packed it's bags on holiday to Greenland. You can say goodbye to any long term cold spells.
  17. To a untrained eye you would of thought that was the polar vortex invading the United States.
  18. It depends what country you live in In all honesty through, I do feel like we are going to be fighting a uphill battle, background signals and the like were in our favour for quite a cold spell "widespread snowfall not included". With the United States having such a very cold spell in the coming days and weeks, this may make our position in a disadvantage because it will awaken the jet stream.
