  1. That's because Storm Eunice was a Friday and it was half term week with the schools already shut at least (with most people on Annual Leave anyway). If this Heat warning had been a week later, at least we could say have breathed a sigh of relief in the sense that it would have been the start of the Summer holidays.
  2. Accept that the wheels have to come off this heatwave sooner or later-Tonight's ECM Is a poor run, no if's or buts. And your post is just as bizarre cause your refusing to enter the possibly that the heatwave has to end sooner or later!
  3. There should be a temperature limit so that everything (bar essential services, supermarkets etc) has to shut when that temperature is reached-There is surely no way anybody can work in 40C heat indoors or out.
  4. And in Sheffield after we get to 31c tomorrow, that appears to be our peak as the heat next weekend only gets us to 29c next Sunday.
  5. All this heat that is being banded about for next weekend can surely only go one way.
  6. I agree about it being la la land-The other models look as through they need switching off & on again since those temperatures for next weekend are surely overblown.
  7. Which means Sheffield has to hope that the short version of the heatwave being tomorrow-Tuesday holds and that the heat stays further south than the other models are making out.
  8. And if your summary on your page about the u-turn tonight holds, it seems Sheffield won't be joining next weekend's heat madness. (crosses fingers the model's don't change back again.)
  9. Seems ECM is having none of it, re the so called heat plume Next weekend-i thought a plume meant thunderstorms or maybe i'm in cloud cuckoo land!
  10. Now watch the heatwave end up being shortened some point next week and we're back to square one.
  11. You'll see soon enough when the mid-month heatwave doesn't materialize.
  12. I see the downgrades have well and truly arrived-One thing's for sure, the 2nd week of July still looks all to play for to me?
  13. Well the last few images, it appears it may not quite be time to break out the BBQ's just yet.
  14. Well it seems the heavens have opened in Sheffield in the last half hour right at the end of a dry month.
  15. 17.3C and 100mm please-July surely has to be the month the weather finally breaks.
  16. It looks like Storm Franklin has already arrived in the North West.
  17. This is sadly correct along with another fatality in Merseyside. Storm Eunice: Two people killed as strong winds batter UK WWW.BBC.CO.UK A woman was killed by a falling tree and a man died after his car was hit by debris in fierce winds.
  18. 5.7C and 136mm-This going to be where we end up paying dearly for the dry January.
