  1. And which could come as early as Monday-yep a repeat of 1976, aka declaring a drought just as conditions finally turn, appears to be happening here.
  2. Well that will be out the window if it gets declared that the whole of the UK is in drought sooner rather than later.
  3. Then the plug on GFS needs pulling out and putting back in again as the BBC have saying the breakdown is Monday for the best part of 5 days, and we're into reliable time frame. and yes i do think GFS are over cooking beyond Sunday.
  4. BBC Says it ends on Monday for Sheffield down to 25 and the thunderstorms arriving late morning. Sheffield - BBC Weather WWW.BBC.CO.UK 14-day weather forecast for Sheffield.
  5. Faint hopes-It's been on the cards on the BBC Website (at least for Sheffield) for at least the past few days and since this hasn't really back tracked as such it's looks like the slightly more unsettled spell may still be on for us from Monday PM onwards.
  6. Now watch a repeat of Autumn 1976 happen and it pours it down for months since it happened just after they appointed a minster of drought!
  7. And the breakdown for Monday has been on the agenda for a good few days has been on the agenda And weather gods, it's Autumn from September 1st not September 22nd-Sort it out, Now and make it stick!
  8. Although The BBC website is still quite adamant about a breakdown on Monday (and has been for a few days now).
  9. At least the possible breakdown between 14th-16th appears to be still there.
  10. Well then lets hope to god the alleged breakdown due around 14th-16th comes off.
  11. I wouldn't call cooling down a bit Next Sunday/Monday a prolonged heatwave.
  12. I've been thinking for weeks that the GFS Needs the plug taking out and putting back in again.
  13. Heaven help us-it was bad enough the first time round! Are we sure the models don't want to reinstate that trough that was due around 13th/14th August.
  14. The Sooner Autumn gets here the better-in fact it can start as early as 3 weeks time which is the Bank Holiday Weekend.
  15. Something is still telling me that something is going to happen around next weekend aka make the weather finally cool down a lot.
  16. Oh god wake me up when we finally have the first day below 20.0c and it stays there because it doesn't look like that or a downpour that lasts more than a few hours is coming at least before the end of the 3rd week of August.
  17. And the month after til it happens-the point stands and if i have to keep saying it like a broken record, i will!
  18. That NW-SE divide that has been going on all year (Storm Eunice in February aside) can't last forever-the jet stream will have to plunge southwards at some point.
  19. 9.4mm for Sheffield from this morning's downpour meaning 1976 retains the driest August on record for Sheffield (at 8.4mm)
  20. Seems There's been an adjustment to Scotland's highest temperature record during the most recent heatwave.
  21. I still feel August (more towards the end) is going to be the month where it breaks completely-it may takes it's time but a genuinely think this south/North spilt we've for virtually the whole year (February and storm Franklin aside) has to break at some point, drought or no drought.
  22. And we had a surprise shower early this morning too. Now watch them declare a drought and then it pours down at some point during August (just as what happened in 1976 the moment they appointed a minster for drought.)
  23. Surely August to be the month where it all breaks down properly! 15.8C and 124MM please-and yes we really do need the rain!
