  1. Midlands thread full of snow reports so marginality shouldn't be an issue at least at this stage of the night.
  2. Not seeing ppn despite the echoes, which indicates evaporative cooling, hopefully sounds good for later...
  3. Depends where. Southern half and west/northwest coasts were always going to be out of the game. Mid/North Wales should be snow though.
  4. That more intense part of the front is still moving in a northeast direction, which is good for the more northern parts of the region. Surely that patch just under Isle of Man can't miss Lancashire/Merseyside?
  5. This, looking at the gfs precipitation forecast would be just as accurate as these graphics. It's a case of nowcasting, but knowing the metoffice have confidence that it should snow for many in this region. Cooling down here after a high of 2.5c, currently 2.3c
  6. Might see a lot of Oscar and Costa falling too
  7. Snow is still a good 5-7 hours away from Midlands.
  8. If you're just outside the warning zone I doubt you'll miss it completely, still probably get some light snow.
  9. Well of course they will be the biggest winners, but they are certainly not the only places getting snowfall and accumulation.
  10. 1.1c currently, hopefully doesn't get past 2c today
  11. They definitely will be issued, Ian F said before. Wales, Midlands and N England the biggest risk areas.
  12. It will pivot somewhere over England and whoever gets stuck under that should get hours and hours of snow. Impossible to accurately forecast where that will be though even a few hours beforehand. I'd say North Midlands most likely.
  13. 12 hour all snow event now. That will do nicely. 9 hours away from the start, either the met office are confident of a non-event or they're getting massive headaches as to whether it will sleet or snow. Hopefully it's the latter.
  14. -0.7 after a low of -2. Mostly cloudy so hopefully the temperature stays below 1-2c today. Scotland snow warning taken down by met office. You would think it's now or never if they're going to put a snow warning up.
  15. Don't know why Manchester is not forecast snow from the BBC. My area of Liverpool is forecast an all snow event for about 20 hours except for just 1 hour where there is sleet. 99% of the time if conditions are right in Liverpool, conditions are cold enough for pretty much everywhere else in the region, particularly inland.
  16. Don't expect anything from that first front. The one with all the ppn is currently out in the Atlantic and should combine with the first front somewhere over North Wales/Irish Sea during this evening.
  17. Finally below zero here. Much of mainland Ireland away from the southwest is getting snow at the moment., which is encouraging. https://forum.netweather.tv/topic/81819-wales-weather-chat/?p=3131361
  18. Upgraded to 6 hours of snow and 4 hours of sleet here, not bad
  19. Ddaytime maximums one degree cooler tomorrow across most of N. England and the midlands. Not much but could make all the difference for many areas... Edit: Looks like the 2nd front catches up to the first one earlier (and therefore further west), over the Irish Sea, allowing cooler uppers to mix into the now-combined fronts.
  20. Looks about right. I expect Liverpool to miss out, but I think Met Office have got it very wrong not having a warning for inland areas.
  21. Met office have updated their warnings... and dropped the snow warning for Northern Ireland. So as of now, 30 hours before the event starts, Met Office thinks no-where in the UK will get snow. If at least 3 of Manchester, Leeds, York, Birmingham, Nottingham, Derby, Sheffield and Leicester don't get a period of snow with accumulation then I'll eat my hat.
  22. Depends, I think with an easterly QBO the downwelling is much quicker. Usually the first response takes 10-15 days.
  23. BBC regional and national forecast bottled it again. We're 2 days away for god's sake, inexcusable imo...
