  1. Still 4.4oC here, going to need a big drop if it's going to snow in the morning.
  2. BBC NW weather confirmed it. No point in those of us in the Southwest of the region lampost watching until tomorrow morning
  3. The likes of Liverpool and Cheshire were predicted to stay dry for most of this evening by the BBC and Meto. It's only at 3am that the snow is forecast to start here.
  4. Well I'm staying away until later tonight. I can't watch as these showers pass by less than 1 mile to my North lol.
  5. Would prefer clear sky until the event. Still 4oC here.
  6. I really doubt I'll get 5 hours of non-stop heavy snow.
  7. These streamers have a nasty habbit of being about 500-700metres too far North this winter. Horrible being so close to them.
  8. Nice, this set up reminds me of Christmas 2004. Don't be surprised if we see a more organised band of showers at some point.
  9. We have got a warm sector on Friday though so Friday is a write off for pretty much all low lying areas.
  10. Yeah the best looks like it will be tomorrow morning. Even here on the coast I'm forecast to get a 7 hour all snow event.
  11. We've been too far south for most of these showers. Hopefully this next one south of IOM is headed for us.
  12. What did Tom Schaffernaffer (don't know his name sorry lol) say
  13. Good to see coastal areas covered in the warnings. Hopefully we do better than the last cold spell.
  14. Hopefully this is wave 2 forming in FI. 12z hinted at it, but we really need a split vortex for that final knockout blow.
  15. I already know I'm going to hate the term "displaced polar vortex" in the next few days. Back to the models, I'm not too excited about day 8+. I think with the vortex having some respite it looks like it will move west back over the North Pole again, so I'm favouring the JMA, perhaps not that quickly though. Though I think it's much more likely we'll have high pressure over us rather than a raging Atlantic like JMA is expecting. After that GFS is going for a much more significant warming with the vortex displaced to Siberia again so we could be on for a repeat in 2-3 weeks.
  16. If that set up translated decently to the troposphere, what's stopping a true Greenland High forming instead of a toppler?
  17. Rain/snow completely circling NW England now, lol unbelievable.
  18. Oh well, just got to hope that band over mid wales comes this way.
  19. Main band is too far east, Liverpool left with snizzle here. Hopefully rotation means the band moves west then south.
  20. Light snow started here, seems to be sticking instantly
  21. Did she look depressed at the prospect of people getting snow?
  22. Temperature stuck at 2c but dewpoint has dropped to -2c
