  1. Spots of rain in the breeze now in South London would you believe.
  2. 17c here in South London now. Dull and breezy. Heading to Cornwall for a few days in July. Train was going to cost £195 (and they'd probably be on strike) Got a flight from Gatwick to Newquay for £45 return.
  3. At least this rubbish spring weather has given us a nice break from the gluuubal waaarming sect banging on with their nonsense.
  4. That's a pretty atrocious outlook just out from the Met Office moments ago. My allotment will be happy though.
  5. I for one am looking forward to this upcoming cool, damp and rather unsettled spell. Plenty of time for dry and heat from June onwards. Dull today too. 16c.
  6. Is this the first time I have ever seen a BBC forecast on the Mod thread..?? Says it all really.
  7. Intense rain now in London. Was just thinking it's a shame with this ridiculous strom naming that they never named a storm Daniel. Stormy Daniels.
  8. Hope everyone survived the vicious storm that was forecast along with the biblical rain( from Storm Mathis whoever dreamt that one up) The catastrophisation of weather nowadays is almost sureal. No wonder the glooobal waaaaming brigade are hiding behind their made in China sofas. Still, it makes me laugh! Makes up for yesterday's sad news about Paul O'Grady's passing. Total legend.
  9. Tipping it down in West London just now. So much for dry with sunny spells. Why oh why can the met office not accurately predict precipitation any more.
  10. Yes indeed. Looking increasingly like a Southern England event again. MetO agree too.
  11. I wonder does anyone know when is the last time snow has been on the ground for this length of time in the London area? 2009 and 2010 only a few days. Don't really remember February 1991 though i believe there was alot of snow then.
  12. It is remarkably cold tonight. - 4.2 in my garden just now. Admittedly there is snow cover but still, that is flipping cold. More beers needed.
  13. True that. I still think that made this spell so special has been the continuously low DPs. Look at them just now! Too high DPs have been the undoing of several potentially special cold spells in the past. The other thing is that's isn't wonderful this can still happen.
  14. My Schnauzer wasn't that keen on going out earlier but I eventually coaxed him out into the snow at lunchtime.
  15. Very true. If the sticks around on the ground for another 2 days it will surpass 2010 easily. Amazing to think that this time last week there was only a slight possibility of heavy snow in the London area. Just goes to show what can happen in the space of a few days. This spell certainly puts the so called "Beast" from the East with its 1cm of snow for 2 days to shame! LoL
  16. Dew Point much lower today. Its around - 2 just now. Yesterday DP was hovering just above zero. Often an issue when it comes to snow melt.
  17. Decent 2" covering in SW London this morning. No thaw yet either. Wasn't expecting so much tbh.
  18. Turbine struck by lightning as storm warning issued WWW.RTE.IE A wind turbine off the coast of Arklow in Co Wicklow has been struck by lightning and is on fire, as several counties in the south and east of the country remain... Looks lively off the Irish coast.
  19. True that. I think we will get a fair dose of convective rain from midweek but it ll be nowcasting. The days of big frontal storms off the Atlantic seem to be suspended down these parts. But they'll be back. Mother nature will always balance things out in the end.
  20. We were always lead to believe by the climate change goblins that Atlantic storms would be more ferocious due to a 'warming ocean'. Huge area of low pressure to our west now giving nothing but a bit of damp drizzle. No doubt they'll put some of spin on it to say its as a result of global waaaaming.
