  1. Well I took the day off work to sort out the allotment as they said it would cleared up by now. Could be an afternoon of Netflix by the looks of it. I don't mind rain but this cold mess?? Arrghh.
  2. Great analysis there mate. Yes, I'm sure everyone would appreciate a more detailed look at what went on(wrong) last night. Disappointing slightly yes, yet very interesting for the weather enthusiasts amongst us. Still tipping it down here in SW19.
  3. Oh dear Peter! Look out your window mate. That's if you are on the London area. Its rain mate!!
  4. You are right. It's a mixture of everything but mosty rain.
  5. Absolutely pouring with rain now in SW19. That's me done with snow now for the foreseeable. It's been a big fail this winter. Back to looking forward to Atlantic storms, gales and rain.I'm glad I like that too. Proper weather you can rely on and something the forecasters can predict.
  6. Well tf the government are on hand to help us clear the 1cm of snow. I was getting worried!
  7. Raining now in Wimbledon. Still only 1.6c. Dull and miserable.
  8. I think you are top of the list so far mate. And on the coast too.
  9. Everything covered now in Wimbledon after a fairly intense burst of snow. Tapered off now.Hopefully a good base for later. Bitter wind. If nothing else though I realised just now I need to clean by bloody windows!
  10. You only had two days of cold?? We had three days down here in South London. Tuesday to Friday afternoon. 2cm of snow. Amazing it was. It was truly memorable. Not!
  11. Interesting night of weather watching and hearing about others getting snow. Never expected ought in London. For those like me that got SFA, there is still plenty of winter left. And this is pretty much the way the Met have been forecasting these situations for a while now in their medium range....before the main event(s) in February. Good times ahead folks.
  12. Here's what we could have had. It's actually gone from 1c to 2.5c in the last hour here. Weird.
  13. Sod all to report in London, sleety mix. UHI done for us this time.
  14. What? This forecast? We've had several years in a row in the past when never had a forecast like this. It's as good as it gets given the marginal situation.
  15. True that. The early December snow that year 2010 was rubbish here in Wimbledon but just down the road in Sutton Croydon etc they got plastered. I remember the trams from Wimbledon to Croydon were cancelled due to snow, there was about an inch here at best but there was about a foot in Croydon and all the way down to Gatwick and Brighton Bonkers. Am I right in thinking that was caused by a stalling front in an easterly does anyone recall?
  16. Let's see what happens tomorrow night, certainly not without interest. Not hugely bothered as it's still only late January so plenty of winter still to go. The overall pattern is what the MET have been saying for weeks now and they are still going for February E/NE.
  17. They the same models that were saying we were going to be up to our knees in snow this morning, this time last week? They have been hopelesly innaccurate this winter.Who knows what's going to happen after Sunday.
  18. Not just the beeb. The Met Office just as hopeless, though in fairness to them on their you tube updates they more or less admit that. Think they are still eating humble pie after this week's shambles. May head to the seaside on Sunday. One never knows?! Bit milder this evening 3.8c.
  19. Yes indeed. Timing of rain totally changes and the mention of snow on Monday has gone. Really really poor forecasting. Couldn't predict a pint in a pub.
  20. Yes, seen that on the BBC weather. Though he had to point it out as it looked the same as the fog and the cloud. They need to get that sorted, it's 2019 fgs. Speaking of forecasts, just watched the MET'S 10 day trend on YouTube. The good news is it looks like that bloody high has finally done one. He said there's going to be basically everything everywhere, rain, snow, ice, sun etc. Seriously, its well worth a look. They are literally forecasting everything!!! Chance of easterlies late next week, just a chance at this stage he said And only one pressure chart shown through the whole 6 minute broadcast.
  21. Yes, I ll always remember the great snow flake of 16.12pm on 22 January.
  22. Bless it its trying it's best here in SW London. Massive wet flakes mixed in the cold rain.
