  1. Looking like a something and nothing affair this warmish spell coming up. Even down here in the SE. I'd expect high teens at best in the Midlands northwards.
  2. We definitely dodged a bullet here in the SE for those of us that have had plenty enough heat in the last 4 months. Close one though.
  3. For a weather enthusiast's site I can't understand folk getting into a frenzy over some wind and rain. It's rough weather. Get used to it for the next 7 months. For goodness sake.
  4. Yup. It's torture . Imagine if this was June and potentially looking at three months of this.Thanofully it's not and we have 7months of cool damp and cloudy weather just around the corner.
  5. Same here in London to he honest. 31c today about not actually too bad. We are half way through this now folks so nearly there, though I fear there may be a sting in the tail at weekend. Anyway, looks like 20c here in London next Tuesday according to the Met Office.
  6. Worst that can possibly happen is another week or so of this and then it's 6/7 months of guaranteed cold and damp weather. I suppose we should sympathize a bit with the heat lovers in that respect? Ermmm no .
  7. Yup, 1949 is a year that's all often mentioned by the climate change/warming world brigade.
  8. Looking at some of the latest output it would appear that it's going to be a fairly shortlived warm spell especially for those in the Midlands and northwards.
  9. Remember also that the folk that are banging on about wanting heat will spend the entire duration of the warm spell indoors glued to the Internet commenting on how hot it is outside!
  10. Can see the tops of the massive thunder clouds from here in South London.
  11. Looking at some of the latest output it would appear that it's now looking to be a fairly shortlived warm spell coming up, especially for the Midlands northwards.
  12. Two decent storms in London today. Massive thunder booms and torrential rain. Didn't see any lightning though.
  13. Yet another perfectly decent day in London. 21c with good sunny spells. Despite the met office saying there was going to be heavy showers and mostly cloudy. If any of us were so rubbish at our jobs we'd be out on our ear.
  14. A big tstorm that's rarely talked about is the huge tstorm that hit SE England on the night of June 22 2016. Lasted the whole night with continuous thunder and lightning. The less said about what happened the following day the better.
  15. I am now convinced that the met office are having an effing laugh at the public's expense. Might aswell have Spencer running the show. Stupid enough naming a storm in the first place but calling it Betty is taking the Tut.
  16. Isn't it amazing that last Monday, today was forecast to be hot and sunny in London with 31c. It's 18c and rain. Seriously!!!!! 'heat dome' and whatever other money grabbing scare cliches the met office throw at us. Oh look, they have just named a storm.....in August!!
  17. You should get your chicken to do a weekly weather forecast. The HCM. Hampshire Chicken Model.
  18. I never thought I'd ever hear/see the expression 'Glad my holiday is in Thetford'.....
  19. Wasn't expecting to see a message like that on here. And you're not wrong.
  20. Agreed. Been proper tipping it down here since around midday. Hopeless forecasting. Last Saturday was a much better day and we were under all sorts of cataclysmic warnings then.
  21. Safe to say according to the latest Met Office update that's summer 2023 gone for a burton.
  22. This soaking we are getting in London just nowwill do wonders for my allotment later in the autumn.
  23. Nice day now in the capital. Long sunny spells and a nice breeze. Pushing 24c yet again out by the runway at LHR.
  24. Looks like we will all be getting plenty of rain over the next several weeks according to latest Met Office extended. I think it's looking like summer 2023 is now a busted flush.
