Really looking forward to it, the reviews are good.We normally seek some sun in January for my Wife's birthday ,went to Antigua last year ,that was awesome, a few showers but 28-30c every day.Boa Vista should be drier if a little cooler. Hope it all means you'll be well.

We've been twice before to Sal , it's very barren but so friendly.This time we're going to Boa Vista which is less developed.As much as like the cold in Winter ,I will take the hot sun anyday of the year Ill look in from time to time ,hopefully see some nice wintry scenes from my beach bed

Models pointing to a lengthy cold spell starting the weekend ,just my luck i'm off to Cape Verde next week for 11 days of African Sun,mustn't grumble though

Had a couple of cms here overnight ,slow thaw underway

Had 5 mins of light snow here but stopped and nothing to show really

Lowest temp so far at -5.1c overnight

Last 3 nights got down to -4c,-3.8c and now currently -4.8c which is the coldest night of the winter so far,Hoping the showers out west pep up and fall as Snow as they cross the region sat/sun

Just cut the lawns,really feels quite warm in the sun

Off to the lakes tomorrow for a few days, weather certainly looking more promising than it did a few days ago.

Coming up to the South lakes between Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale next week (wed-sat),looking a bit unsettled at the moment , hope we get somewhat drier weather than is forecast

Blue Skies here in Wigan

Arrived home yesterday after spending a lovely week in Istria(Croatia),despite the doom and gloom forecasts of heavy rain throughout the med/adriatic we had a lovely week with sunshine on 6 out of 7 days,temps were reaching highs between 24-26c and it was not humid.Coming back to Wigan yesterday was really uncomfortable due to the high humidity ,but we saw some torrential rain/storms yesterday evening.Currently very warm again with garden sensor showing 22.2 c .Yesterdays high was 32.8c followed by an overnight low of 16c.

Got to admit I'm a bit confused this morning(more so than usual old man confused).Looked at my weather apps including the BBC and the snowfall tomorrow/friday has downgraded to sleet ,but just seen the TV forecast from Carol Kirkwood and it still indicates a period of prolonged snowfall. Think it's just gonna be window watching

-8.5c last night , didn't quite reach the -9.8c of the night before,but still bone chillingly cold,not expecting tonight to reach anywhere near those.

Currently at -9.8c which is as low as I can recall for at least a decade

Please tell me I'm not the only one on here who found that childishly amusing
