  1. Estofex currently have this... (Text snipped from Estofex)
  2. Huh, strange. I was walking into the town (WsM) around the time mentioned by others and I never saw anything (didn't hear anything as I had my headphones in). I always miss the good stuff. :/
  3. Short few minutes of hail just finishing here. Really tiny pieces.

  6. Well, I believe we've got a "flood alert" for most of WsM - though I'm unsure where my nearest point of water actually is (where I'm based). Then about 15 minutes ago (looking East) it seems the sky was starting to fall - and a rainbow was trying it's best to appear. Once that has disappeared, it revealed these.
  7. It does seem a tad bit chillier yeah. Even when I went to the shop yesterday evening around 1700 it seemed really nippy.
  8. Ahh cool. I'm near the Leisure Centre and Rugby Club (so kind of the middle) I'm hoping so. *crosses fingers*
  9. Finally, snow is starting to fall in Weston-super-Mare ... *yay* Only lightly and small flakes, but still... it's snow. (Also I don't see it sticking as the ground is a bit wet from earlier) [EDIT] After posting the above, it seems to have pretty much stopped... only the odd little flake falling now. Well, at least I've witnessed snow for the first time in 2 years.
  10. I can hear something outside, oh, thought as much... rain. Just plain ol' boring rain.
  11. Just noticed this from the local newspaper's website, posted earlier, however in the article it says "Thursday" (so I'm guessing 15th Jan). (Oh and they use that dreaded term "mini tornado" too *rattles*) -> Freak wind hits quiet cul-de-sac
  12. It looks like a Summer's day outside - sun shining, pretty much clear blue skies - although I think the neighbours would think I'm a bit tapped if I went out in shorts. :/
  13. Back from ASDA... it's rain, rain and more rain. Oh and wind too. Besides that, nothing exciting else to report.
  14. Downloaded it and it worked. Lovely and bright lightning and lovely sound of thunder. Well caught.
  15. Just had about a minute of hail about 10 minutes ago here in Weston, besides that, it's still fairly dark-ish and gloomy looking outside.
  16. Absolutely outrageous. I know I'm hundreds of miles south of everyone in this thread, am all the way down in cider-land, I enjoy (trying) to help. I agree PP, I was going to say earlier, the best thing to do is what you always see on American documentaries about tornadoes (yes, I know this isn't, but the principle is the same), stay away from windows, go to the safest part of the house (room/cupboard/closet) with no windows and use as much padding as possible (blankets, pillows, etc..) and wait the storm out.
  17. Well, as of 2:54am, the MO are awake... and still nothing's changed on their site (in relation to a 'red' warning). Here was my shody reply from them...
  18. The windspeed is on the decline... albeit *VERY slowly*: 1:50am - Wind: 79mph | Gust: 106mph | Pres: 973mb 2:20am - Wind: 70mph | Gust: 99mph | Pres: 977mb 2:50am - Wind: 66mph | Gust: 90mph | Pres: 978mb But I personally don't know how long it'll be for emergency services.
  19. The 1:50am (GMT) Stornoway METAR has came in with a Wind Speed of 79mph, and Wind Gust of 106mph. Thoughts are with you Scotland.
  20. Here's the top two for wind and gusts at 2350z on my UK METAR Weather project. Benbecula (EGPL) Wind: 60mph WSW Gust: 79mph Stornoway (EGPO) Wind: 53mph SW Gust: 81mph
  21. I originally set this up to just show various weather types being detected - unlike XC Weather, which brilliantly does the whole lot - however with it being quiet (besides the odd few thunderstorms earlier), I've added the wind information on there now (if it gets reported).
