I recorded 31mm in Evesham yesterday.
That compares with an official February LTA for Pershore of 35.6mm and my own ave (since 2007) of 40.7mm
We had already had 17mm on Tuesday on top of that. Not surprisingly, the Avon is in flood again although levels are not currently expected to be quite as high as in January. -
Snowshine The warning ends 1 mile north of my house
Forecast remains consistent here: rain, rain, followed by rain and then turning to rain. Zero chance of snow in south Worcestershire!- 1

Yeah only Kent and North York Moors got anything significant out of December 2022.
Actually, here in SE Worcestershire, December 2022 gave us the best snowfall since 2010 From a small feature that wasn't forecast at all.

Anyone in birmingham record the rainfall totals from yday? certainly looked like north warks was the sweet spot for flashes from what ive seen. Ourselves north through much of Staffs saw some fun too. But id assume there was well over an inch here? Fingers xd for more fun today although its so random with convection anywhere in central/southern england could see the fun!
I had 22.4mm in Evesham - not far off an inch

Thunder now in Evesham
-
First thunderstorm of the year for Evesham - some nice deep booms too
-
Well, it was definitely the best snow event of 2023* here in Evesham Even though it was 90% rain ....
But it was never looking likely to equal last December's snow, and I was pleasantly surprised to see anything settle at all.

Light, wet, snow in Evesham - just settling on cars and roofs and a little on grass

I wonder how effective any mild incursion will be later.
Already turning to sleet/rain here in Evesham - and forcast to hit 14-15c on Sunday so I can't see it lasting in these parts! May get another dusting tomorrow moring first though.
-
Coming down heavier in Evesham now with a light covering on roads and pavements - so looks like we'll have a 9am snow cover
-
Evesham: Still a slight dusting in places from yesterday's snow, despite temps remaining above freezing overnight.
Now being topped up with further light/moderate snow (small flakes) -
light covering on roofs, cars and grass in Evesham ow after an hour of heavier snow - but some way to go to get any measureable accumulation.
After a max today of +2.7c it's now +0.4c/-0.3c- 1

First snow of the year in Evesham this morning - currently giving a slight dusting on house roofs and cars

Lots of non-rain/non-snow on the radar this morning! Temp 1.5c and DP 0.0c here in Evesham so when we do get precipitation I expect only rain. But 8 days of snow cover isn't to be sniffed at. Been the most notable cold spell since December 2010, even if there was only the one snowfall.

Cloud starting to spread in and temperatures rising. I think that's the "big freeze" over. After 2 nights of double digit minima, I may not even record a frost here tomorrow

-10.3c in Evesham this morning
Lots of angry folk on FB cos the council haven't employed their magic dragons to clear all the hard packed frozen snow and ice off the pavements ..... I suspect some of it will still be around on Monday, even after Sunday's rain. -
Min of -11.3c in Evesham this morning - lowest temperature recorded since December 2010
It was still -4c at midday, lower than I have had all winter some years ..... However has since warmed up somewhat in the sun and now +0.1c So missed out on a 3rd consecutive ice day.- 1

Max of -0.1c in Evesham, and now down to -7.2c

Finally got an ice day in Evesham with daytime max of -0.3c (did actually get up to -0.1c at 1.45am this morning though, so close run thing)

Still snowing in Evesham (although there's been a bit of a melt in town). Definitely the best snow event here since the "Beast" in 2018 (and all the better for being unforecast - and occurring in a Sunday) Great to see the kids enjoying it. Could be lethal tomorrow though with a slight thaw followed by a hard freeze forecast tonight. Got my micro spikes ready

Polar Maritime I did mine last month!
But I have a huge pile of hedge trimmings that need burning - and every time they just about dry out it rains again .....
