A windy weekend. There will be more rain but Storm Kathleen is mostly about gales and gusts. Saturday brings a bonus bit of warmth for part of the UK.

and AEMET is the national agency for spain, for any warnings.  This weekend looks wet and windy for Spain frmo the NW due to the same low that affects the UK but there seems to be some improvement next week, at least initially

  4. It's a very generational thing. I was excited to see the Aurora but also the snow, mountains, wildlife, scenery and Tromso ,even how the snow was cleared in a different country. One of my teens said "so you did see the Aurora, you can tick that off?" At the airport, there were definitely some folk who had bought a showy Arctic outfit with fur edging and were all about getting the pose of themselves in front of the Aurora. Which is fine and may enliven the shared aurora pics but what happens when the lights don't show that evening? Big disappointment?    I was enchanted by life in the Arctic, I've read and watched as much as I can access since returning. I'd looked at the railway journeys, didn't fit with my trip but your photos look wonderful @TillyS
