  1. A number of posts have been removed - as much as the opinions in them were put forward in a reasonable and calm way, they weren't model discussion and that's what this thread is for - no-one is going to learn anything about the models in this thread if we allow it to fly off on tangents talking about other members posting styles. For what it's worth - three tips for posting in here: 1. If you need to write 'sorry this is off topic but....' somewhere in your post, don't post it! 2. If you need to write 'I hope the mods won't delete this' somewhere in your post, don't post it! 3. If you have an issue with a post which you think is off topic, is breaking the guidelines or is against the spirit of the community please just report it, don't respond to it. Thanks
  2. I don't think that's an error TP, it's your login session expiring as you are removing cookies/changing details once logged in - the trace is showing the server responds ok, if you log out and back in again it'll work fine
  3. Inspired by this really nice blog entry by Scotster explaining why he loves snow, I thought it would be cool to ask the question on here too - why do you love snow?
  4. I would think at some point you've perhaps chosen not to view them - you can change the setting here: http://forum.netweather.tv/index.php?app=core&module=usercp&tab=core&area=ignoredusers (Tick box at the top)
  5. The fault isn't likely to lie in the internal networking there, it's much more likely to be somewhere on the route from there to the server, and likewise the server hasn't been changed in the last couple of weeks either. As I say though, it's only a network trace which will allow any diagnosis. If you'd rather not put it on the forum, please email it over to team[at]netweather.tv.
  6. I'm pretty sure it's not server related, but a traceroute is the only way to confirm that. and no that server doesn't serve anything on the forums
  7. Nwstatic itself isn't the issue though as that server is up and accessible with no issues showing on any of the external monitoring we do, the issue is in the connectivity between your vpn and the server, which is not something we can control unfortunately. The most likely people to be able deal with that with are your vpn provider, but please send over the traceroute/tracert into nwstatic.co.uk that I asked for before because that will give info on where in the network the problem is.
  8. That's emails sent to all those booked on the chases this afternoon, so if you haven't received one please let us know..
  9. Very weird, I can see your reply to Ian which was just a thanks type message, so I can only assume that any subsequent reply to it must not have been recorded on there. Sorry about that - we weren't ignoring you, just never got your message!!
  10. Hi Kirsty, again I'm sorry about this - obviously some of the confirmations didn't find their way to people so we will be emailing everyone today. In terms of your request for info on a payment plan - I can see the ticket you sent in August asking about your tour which Ian answered within a few minutes, but I'm not seeing anything else so I don't know where that went at all. I'll drop you an email about options in terms of payments shortly though.
  11. Jim, I have replies to that particular email from you, and swapped a handful of different emails with you about your tour choice etc, so I think you may be mistaken on that front. As far as commenting on others, tbh that's probably best to allow them to deal with things but as far as I'm aware no-one is awaiting a reply to emails so I'd ask anyone who is awaiting a response to something to get in touch again. As much as I obviously accept something has gone awry in terms of some of the details not getting out to people which we'll remedy asap, we're pretty accessible in terms of contact - for instance I think it was only a couple of months ago we spoke on the phone about the chase, and others have called / emailed / opened support tickets with questions etc and have been answered. Regarding the websites, to be totally honest that's not really something which makes a difference to anyone's bookings, I totally understand that coupled with any communication issues it doesn't look great but it really has no bearing on any bookings that have already been made.
  12. Hi Mapantz, the option to save postcodes is definitely something in the development plan currently, so it should hopefully be available soon. Re the forum, we're due to update it imminently which I hope will change the way the menu works
  13. To be honest Jim the deposits were clearly marked as non refundable on the website, and the subsequent emails - as far as I've ever seen all holiday deposits are non-refundable and from year 1 the deposits for the storm chases have been non-refundable. When someone books the deposit holds the place and is a commitment to honour that booking, if they weren't non-refundable we may as well not take a deposit at all. This is the wording from the email confirming the tour dates back in May and the wording of the refundable nature of the early bird deposit matches that on the website - ie everyone who booked prior to knowing the dates could cancel at that point should none of the dates work for them, and we would refund the deposit then. Regarding t-shirts, they've been done once I think, but have never been a core part of the package, and the community side of the chases have evolved in the last few years of their own accord really, so we didn't pursue the bio's etc in 2012 as we had in previous years.
  14. Sorry to hear people are having issues here - obviously we've got something wrong here and will make sure it's sorted. In terms of the booking confirmations, all those who booked on the early bird deal should have received emails during the summer with confirmed tour details as they all went out in a batch - if you've not got one of those please feel free to drop me an email - paul[at]netweather.tv. In terms of the dates on the site, tbh we've been waiting on some confirmations in terms of group bookings which will affect availability of further space on the tours concerned and that's taken a lot longer than we hoped, but it has no bearing on those who have already booked. Beyond that, with the tours some way off there's not usually a great deal of information to share at this stage anyway, but we'll be in touch with everyone within the next few days with an update to hopefully allay any concerns and ensure everyone has all the info they need about their bookings. Cheers Paul

  20. Can we keep it to the models please - the clue is in the title
  21. Reposting this as we've had one or two problems this morning that have resulted in at least one member falling foul of the zero tolerance policy, which is a shame.. Important - Please Read... Just as a reminder to those who may already know and a notice to those who haven't perhaps been about to see this - the models threads are now zero tolerance when it comes to petty bickering, point scoring, wind-ups and any sort of posting which could be defined as against the spirit of the community. This means that anyone who posts something within these categories will be stopped from posting in here without warning. The majority of people using this thread will never fall foul of this, but please make sure you self-moderate yourselves when posting, and if you see a post that you think may be a problem please report it. Thanks Paul
  22. Not seeing any of those problems here TP and none of our external monitoring is flagging up issues, please can you open cmd in windows and type the command tracert nwstatic.co.uk then paste in the results to here?
  23. Wondering about the chances of snow, and how to forecast it? Jo has a blog all about it (regularly updated with info on the snow risk next week) here: http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=news;storyid=5521;sess=
