  1. Mapantz I'll see if I can get some info from the metoffice as to what's happening.
  2. Mapantz it's all running normally as far as I can see? Edit. Scrub that. Yep does look like a number of radar sites are down.
  3. alan.duckers It's not a guarantee at the moment, from what they're saying to me, they're aiming for it, but I'd not bet my house on them getting it done in that timeframe.
  4. I think a few files may have come in slower than normal, but it's finished now.
  5. We've pushed an update live this morning which should clear the bug which was causing nowcast data to be shown briefly ahead of actual radar updates even if the nowcast option was switched off
  6. I think I've spotted a bug which may cause the behaviour you're describing above @LeeKay/ - we should get that resolved on Monday.
  7. We haven't run the full update as yet, but have been adding new postcodes. Please can you use the contact option through the site and let us know the postcode that's missing, we can then look to get it added for you https://community.netweather.tv/contact/
  8. LeeKay/ When the nowcast is switched off, it shouldn't auto update to use that, it should just update as usual to the latest 'live' radar. Are you seeing something different? Also does clicking the 'latest' button take you to the latest live time or the latest nowcast time? In terms of real time updates of actual radar, that's not possible in the UK at the moment. Once we receive data from the metoffice we process and get in on the screen within around 20 seconds.
  9. Hi Alan, we're just waiting on the latest from the Met Office as to when it'll be re-added to the composite data. They initially said it would be Feb, but obviously, that's been and gone, so we've chased and await a response. I don't know why it's taking so long for them to sort it to be honest - I'll pass on whatever they say as soon as we have it.
  10. Nice update gone live on the V8 radar today - there's now a 'Nowcast' option in the display settings menu, which will automatically update the radar to 'now' every 5 minutes, using the 500m predictive radar. Also, this winter, we introduced a major upgrade to our precipitation type. Upgrading it to 500m resolution, adding a new height mapping to the same resolution and updating a number of the algorithms. including better precipitation rate feedback to take evaporative cooling into account. This is the old one over Scotland last week: And the new one five minutes later:
  11. Our login system has changed today (Wednesday 6th March). You'll need to use your email address and password (or to use social sign-in from the various options available). The option to use your display name and password to log in with is no longer available. If you're having problems logging in, please use the forgotten password link on the login page and the system will email you right away (please allow 10 minutes for the email to arrive though). If you're still having issues or don't receive the email, please contact us via the site, and include your display name and the email address associated with your account in the message: https://community.netweather.tv/contact/
  12. The change to the login system is now live. So you'll need your email address and password (or to use social sign-in from the various options available). 13. We're going to be making the change to the login system on Wednesday. So, from that point on you'll need to use your email address to login rather than having the option to also use your display name.
  14. That's all sorted now Ian, and it's had an update to higher resolution as well
  15. Dale Leigh_6487 You can do that here: https://community.netweather.tv/settings/email/
  16. We'll be going ahead with this change at the end of the month. So, please make sure you've updated your email address if it needs to be - and that's particularly in the case of those who see warnings such as these at the top of the page: It's possible to use your email address to login in the meantime as well, so it may be worth doing that to ensure your password continues to work etc, while it's still possible to login the old way.
  17. I've split out the September stuff from this thread into its own one, for those who really want to discuss it. So this one doesn't get over-run with that. https://community.netweather.tv/topic/99881-mild-september-a-mild-winter/?do=getNewComment
  18. Vortex3929 As it stands, the fix is the change to the default themes. I think ultimately, with a new, totally updated version of the software due this year, it's likely that'll bring a new theme with it, so we'll probably stick with what we have for now, as it works.
  19. Latest on the SSW and it's potential impacts in Nick's blog Mild February looking likely now, but will a likely Sudden Stratospheric Warming lead to winter having a sting in its tail? WWW.NETWEATHER.TV Despite signs at the beginning of the month that February would turn cold, now it looks like it will remain mild for much of the month. However, an SSW is likely in a week's time, and this could...
  20. The PIT No, it's not been changed as yet.
  21. Just for the avoidance of doubt, this thread was started by the team, splitting out posts which had been made in the model thread, which would have taken it way off topic. Obviously as a 'post mortem' it's somewhat premature, but since there's obviously some appetite to discuss this now, it's better to have a thread then have those discussions spread about elsewhere. The purpose of it is not to have it turn into a name calling session or some sort of blame game. The aim is for it to be a place for some reasoned discussion on this winter, along with the forecasts, models and teleconnections during the season, so we can hopefully learn more about them and understand where, how and why things have gone both right and wrong with them all. There's already been at least some of that, so hopefully that theme can continue and we can have a constructive, useful debate.
  22. Met4Cast This is another good resource And more generally https://community.netweather.tv/learning/research/
  23. January1940 It looks like your email has been bouncing messages sent from the forum, so it won't continue to send any email to it after that. If you can message me or use the private team forum (linked below) to confirm what your email address was on your original account, I can change it to the one you're using on this account and send a password reset. https://community.netweather.tv/forum/171-contact-the-forum-team-private-forum/
