  1. My bad, badly typed link http://www.netweather.tv/radar
  2. Did you know that you can check the radar without even having to leave netweather http://www.netweather.tv/radar
  3. Supercell right over Medway I heard - you missed a huge one. *This may be a lie*
  4. Another batch this time all from the final day of the 2013 chase - 22nd June in Wyoming and Nebraska. (made for a long drive back to the airport, but it was worth it!) More to follow!
  5. With the storm chase just days away (tour 1 build up here), I thought a good way to whet the appetite would be to share some of the amazing supercells, tornadoes and lightning that the Netweather team have witnessed in the last few years.. So here's the first batch - a random assortment to get the ball rolling..
  6. It's that time of the year again! Tour 1 of the storm chase begins this weekend, some of the team are already out in the USA setting up (and hopefully doing a bonus chase or two) and then the first guests of the year arrive Saturday with the first proper chase day on Sunday. As usual the team will be regularly reporting back from the USA and will upload videos and photos of the chases whenever possible. You'll also be able to watch the action as it happens on the live video stream. The team on tour 1 are: Paul Sherman (tour leader) Arron Hiscox (driver and forecaster) Ian Michaelwaite (driver and technical) The guests on tour 1 are: Jo Rick (chase virgin) Ben (chase virgin) Kathryn Gavin Christine (chase virgin) Laura (chase virgin) The current outlook is looking pretty good for the first chase day with Texas and Oklahoma and Kansas potentially in the firing line based on this morning's data Good luck all - hope you have a great trip
  7. I've blocked ads from that provider for now anyway.
  8. Adnxs is a legitimate adserver / ad company (Appnexus), so I think it's just a false positive but will confirm.
  9. Yep, we can play it by ear really - if it works really well within the limited regions and the majority would rather keep them that way then we have that option, alternatively we can keep with the plan split all out to smaller regions as needed, or even split some out into smaller regions and leave some of the larger ones in place. Being flexible is definitely the way forward here as we can see how everyone finds things and respond to that.
  10. No, as you were for the time being - can see how it goes and change if needs be.
  11. We have some proposed new regions for the regional discussions during the summer and autumn months - please take a look at let us know your views. http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/80194-regional-threads-changes-for-summer/?p=2965003

  20. We've knocked up a quick map just to show the proposed new regions. As you'll see there is some overlap for those close to the borders of each zone, so in theory they can choose whichever one they feel is most relevant. As said before - this smaller regions can and will be introduced as and when any weather events are likely/ongoing and will also be bought online once the busier winter season starts up. 1. Scotland, the far North of England 2. EIRE and Northern Ireland 3. Rest of Northern England (to include Lincs and Yorks) 4. Wales, The Midlands, Southwest England 5. Southeast England, Central Southern England & East Anglia Sorry to those in Shetland (Scotland region), the Scilly Islands / Channel Islands (SW region) - we didn't forget you, it's just you didn't fit on the template map we used as the background! If the general consensus is that this is ok then we'll make the change later on this week. We'll also keep monitoring things, so if the setup isn't quite working then we can tweak things again.
  21. You're right, it is another quiet one - tricky to fold it into other regions though really as then you're talking very big areas geographically. I think we'll probably just have to see how it goes and take it from there.
  22. Ok, so hopefully this is a workable suggestion that we can put in place if the majority are happy.. 1. Scotland, the far North of England 2. EIRE and Northern Ireland 3. Rest of Northern England (to include Lincs and Yorks) 4. Wales, The Midlands, Southwest England 5. Southeast England, Central Southern England & East Anglia They could in theory become 'permanent' larger regions which would be split out into smaller regions as needed - ie during severe weather events and during the generally busier times such as winter. Hopefully this then offers the best of both worlds for people - a laid back, mini community for day-to-day weathery chat and the like, lots of local info and more people to talk to for the quieter regions currently.
  23. Yeh, that does sound like a better idea than mine.
  24. How about something like: Scotland, the far North of England. Rest of Northern England (to include Lincs and Yorks) Wales and The Midlands Southern England + East Anglia Ireland Obviously larger regions across the board, so less relevance in some discussions but an opportunity to mix it up a bit more, particularly in merging some of the quieter regions in with others + we can still open the smaller regions as and when weather events are due + once we're back into winter.
  25. Ok, so getting back to options here. Clearly removing the regionals entirely is off the table now.. So it's a case of whether we can merge regions to help out the quieter regions etc, and how best to do that if so. Sound fair?
