  1. Looks like some gentle snow is heading for Coventry/Rugby area, with a slightly heavier band behind it... I hope so anyway Thats from the Netweather radar
  2. its nowhere near 1990 yet. I was 9 and remember it well. I remember buses being left on the road side as they couldn't get up hills, the A45 near my house was at a standstill and at least 30/40 cm of snow, more where it drifted against front doors. I'm in Coventry, and if this keeps going for another 4/5 hours then we could be in for something similar, needs to pick up the rate tho Hope it gets close!
  3. Snow fall just north of Coventry atm. Should hit us in the next 10/20 i reckon (hope)
  4. I know the history you speak of. It's not negative, its realistic. I'm still hopefull of a snowfest on Sunday AM but like you I don't want to get too giddy yet
  5. Winds really picking up in Coventry at the moment. Only a few clouds to the NW but its got really really blowy!
  6. My hopes are already high. Slap bang in the middle of the Amber zone too. Snow, Christmas and a City of Culture victory This is a good few days
  7. Looks like its still missing Solihull/Coventry by going just south of us. The next band over NW midlands/staffordshire looks like its following that path also. Hopefully a slight change to take it more NW to SE and we would also be in for more than a dusting
  8. As RainToday appears to keep crashing, here's another live radar... No need to watch the lamposts yet.. http://meteoradar.co.uk/realtime-snowfall
  9. Looks quite exciting for Friday in our region I'm on the western outskirts of Coventry (Eastern Green so Meriden/Berkswell side) and our forecast is not as strong as Solihull or Marston Green. Hoping it stretches a few miles east. Still, I would take this setup anytime over what we've had the last few years
  10. Will be watching the extended weather forecast at the end of Countryfile on BBC1 in a moment with interest...
  11. Lovely stuff! Hope it continues... Looks like light snow could continue all night in Coventry after this initial heavier band, and temps staying low... Kids school is meant to be open tomorrow but I have a feeling we will be checking twitter and local radio in the morning
  12. Hi Shezale, where abouts in Coventry are you? Coming down nicely in Eastern Green, not crazy heavy, but slowly accumulating
  13. Sticking in cov, but the missus has closed the curtains so I can't look at the lampost anymore... its a mystery now... i hope its getting heavier... will get up and look in a mo
  14. Lights out inside, lampost watching outside..
  15. Me and DiagonalRedLine on the same wave-length East... Sorry... To excited to get the obvious things right
  16. And its got some power building up in it according to the radar
  17. Yeah, always thought that was to early. Looking at NAE and Met Office and other bits and bobs it was always around midnight... Fingers crossed, I am off into town soon and I won't mind walking home if we get snow The band of red in South Wales is moving west, and on its current route will cover the south midlands... MAYBE!! What do I know??
  18. Although our worst in the Coventry area isnt due till around midnight... which meants it 'could' be the main band over SW Wales atm..
  19. Hope that mental cloud over mid/south wales heads towards the midlands and Coventry
  20. Oh, and Hi! First time poster, long time snow lover!
  21. Just want it to dive a bit south to Coventry... Looks heavy North of Brumtown...
