  1. Could do with a drop of rain, everything drying up here, just skirted around us and exploded a few miles west and south of here
  2. Lol look at the pitiful rain moving into Leicestershire and compare it to the rest of the country , the drought continues here I suppose
  3. Hardly any rain fell here, must be two months without any significant rain, must be the most baron spot in Britian right now
  4. Finally some heavy snow here after being unluckly earlier, instant covering happy days
  5. . Painful radar watching wasn't it, couldn't believe it
  6. Somehow managed to miss all this snow passing through the midlands, with nothing more than a bit of light snizzle. Miraculous really, dont know how it happened but it did, been watching the snow clouds passing south west nd north east of here all afternoon, wouldn't be the first time this happened though.
  7. The snow is far to wet to settle here, probably don't have the elevation here like other parts of the Midlands
  8. Apparently a massive tree has just come down about a mile away from my house blocking the road.
  9. saw the exact same thing here in hinckley, the storm literally formed over the top of us with a rumble of thunder but did'nt drop any rain, could see it really coming to life to the north of here as can been seen on the radar
  10. Starting to settle in Hinckley at last we may be gettin somewhere
  11. Can't see much settling snow happening here if conditions stay the same Very wet snow for the last few hours just soaking everything not even a hint of settling
  12. A little surprised at the lack of accumulating snow here, considering its been snowing moderate to heavy for four hours only a slushy cm or two, mind you considering how wet it was before hand perhaps I shouldn't be
  13. Been very lucky here in Hinckley over past week and it seems its been just as good for other people in the central midlands. Missed out on really good snowfall events in recent years so I think it's about time we had some of the best snow countrywide this time around. Just measured a shade under 8" on my bench in the back garden which is untouched since the first snowfall on Monday about 6 to 7" on the back lawn, less on other areas where it's been trampled under foot. Been a brilliant week here
  14. The best snow event here since 96, just measured 7" level on the back lawn where mondays snow had survived more. Slightly less on other surfaces.
  15. Been out with the ruler just over 10 cm on even surfaces more on grass and in the drifts, looks great outside my window with the gusty wind blowing the snow of the rooftops , magical scenes.
  16. Heaviest snow so far today big flakes, compared to the heavy smaller flakes this morning
  17. don't know if i can trust the forecast though, i'm sure it took them by surprise just as much as us, who knows whats gonna happen with tonights band, best everyone just sticks to the radar.
  18. just watched latest bbc forecast, they showed the surprise snow currently falling atm continuing all night, only really stopping when tomorows main band reaches the midlands tommorow. Pretty remarkable how this just came out of nowhere
  19. Managed to get a few jobs done this afternoon after it cleared it. Coming home tonight it literally every car was dented by the hail even car windows completely smashed in even reports of people house windows being smashed. It's fun and games but a lot of damage has been done around hinckley, anyone caught out in the storm must of been hurt.
  20. LOOK AT THE BULLET HOLES IN MY CONSERVATORY ROOF http://imageshack.us.../img0102br.jpg/ Hinckley town centre during the storm https://fbcdn-video-...-a.akamaihd.net These things were hitting my van while i was in it photo.php
  21. The worst hail storm ive ever witnessed just passed through hinckley, leicestershire, id just pulled up to a job and noticed some very dark clouds heading my way acompanied by none stop thunder. Then small hail turned into terenchal double golf ball size stuff, very scary stuff, eveyone's cars were dented with bullet holes up the whole street, peoples guttering were smashed of there house and because of the leafs blocking up the drains the roads were flooded everywhere cm's away from flooding people houses. horrendous
  22. periods of heavier snow here now, cant see it settling due to my elevation but i was only expecting rain here so you never know
  23. Very poor evening here, the ppn split over the top off us as it traveled south leaving us in a dry slot between the two bands and then it intensified to the south and is now heading southwest. Did pretty well on Saturday though but half of the snow was gone by sunday afternoon and the rest gone by monday afternoon. Still could be worse im sure there are people that have had no snow at all from both events.
  24. about a level 4.5 inches here, slightly more in certain areas of the back garden, measured up to 7 inches on my bench where it had drifted up against the back of it, but i guess that doesn't really count Over all very happy, but never seem to ever get much more than we currently have during snow events of recent years always ranges between the 4 to 5 inch mark, still waiting for the event thats going to deliver that magical 10 inches plus haven't seen that since 91.
  25. I can definitely back this up, easily 3/4 cm without the drifts here possibly slight more, been very small flakes but coming down at a fair rate of knots and blowin about in the wind.
