Moderate/light snow for most of the morning leaving a slight dusting. Looking too far north for anything meaningful this time round but good luck to you guys on the estuary! -
Wow what an encore that was, 3” put done in 5 hours! shame it will be all gone tomorrow but I’m rating the cold spell 9/10! See you all next winter!

Looks like our last chance for snow later today and into this evening before we can call time on this cold spell. Incredible period of weather and to think we were so close to replicating some of the epic scenes up in Scotland! Temp: -1.6 dew -4.6

As the last few light flakes fall I have to agree while we are not going to see the main area of snow push this far NE, can’t complain as we received about 4 hours of decent moderate and at times heavy snow which I wasn’t expecting, some people got none. Looks like there’s a chance of something tomorrow for our region both Arpege and HIRLAM going a period of snow moving through:

Think this is going to be great for our region, the radar is looking brilliant with everything a lot further east than forecast. Some heavy returns moving up into south Essex moving northwards and Cambridge looks in the middle of a snow storm right now! edit, haha just saw mb018538 post!

Light snow and lots of flakes blowing in the wind here now. Arpege showing some action for our region coming up. To be honest wasn’t expecting anything today but when you are in a cold situation anything can happen at short notice and it’s all about nowcasting

Wow great end to daylight hours with another blizzard like shower lasting about 30-45 minutes ended up in a bit of streamer for a while and other 1-2cm’s from that! All eyes to the NE of the Suffolk coast as some more showers have bubbled up. As Jo just mentioned this is far from over today....

So looks like we are seeing the last few showers of this cold spell this afternoon, it’s been great I must say and it seems most people saw something falling from the sky even though we were scuppered an epic spell by that shortwave in the North Sea at the beginning. A great way to sign off winter!

Just need those narrow streamers to level out so they are running directly east to west! To be honest I’ll be just happy with cloud right now as it’s a battle of snow v sun and the sun is inevitably starting to win!

Definitely brightening up now but that was a phenomenal morning of snow. As was yesterday the case yesterday most will melt in the sunshine so going to try and get out and about to enjoy it while it lasts. Good luck to those who haven’t had anything yet

Stopped here with clouds breaking and brightening up now which is a shame, looking good many areas of the region but I fear that might be it for over ‘ere

Just had a 5 minute breather and we’re off again! Wind definitely picking up now drifting will come into play! Haven’t said that in years. Plus will help push more showers inland so all you guys and girls in the West will get some action too

These showers are incredible Chris! Let’s hope they keep coming and we could end up with 20+ cm’s today alone This has the hallmarks of an ‘old skool’ easterly now, wind freshening now

It’s been an event for here thats for sure. The beast took a while but has awakened overnight and delivered, steady moderate snow and now heavy again now!

Was just thinking this looks like it was building again, filling into a more organised area of snow again, a promising next few hours coming up

Liking the angle and depth of these showers moving in from the east. The easterly wind shift has done the trick
