  1. The Met O Radar animation is an interesting watch... to say the least!... Almost has me under snow from 9am thursday right through till 9am Friday!!!... if that happens then OMG!!! hahaha!
  2. yeh surface overall temps for that time period are showing as +2c (which seems odd?) cloud cover is pretty good from around 4pm onwards and rainfall totals too... by no means am I expecting it to happen but, definitely gunna keep an eye on it... Have a great night out in Brid Chieftain
  3. Ive been looking at the MetOffice weather radar and they are showing this to enter our region from around 8pm tonight... sooooo maybe???
  4. Having a quick whip round for the 18z "pub run"... anything you can spare would be greatly appreciated... in fact the more the merrier!... I think if we can raise enough of a bar tab for it then we could be talking a top self drinking sesh!... kinda feels appropriate tonight!
  5. need to surface from the MOD thread briefly so regain some sort of normality! hahaha... The regional threads seem to have changed format slightly to what I remember? Anyway here is my EXTENSIVE list of everything we can be 100% sure of over the next week or so: 1. Its going to get cold... but yeah like properly cold... Winter cold!... as we start... winter... ... ... Errrrm I think that's about it really!... ... I (semi)jest, but at the same time it feels a bit like after nearly 2 weeks of following the MOD posts, that's about the only thing we can say for sure!... Keeping everything crossed for some surprises falling from the skies over the next week whilst we are in this colder spell ... you never know!... well... not 100% anyway!
  6. If this was two years ago I remember it well... and I seem to remember Kasim and another guy (sorry name has slipped my mind just now) being absolutely spot on at seeing it coming and getting it predicted pretty much spot on at the time!... just gunna see if I can find the other guys name...
  7. Was just going to say the same thing!... Is that likely to be the case in a set up like this? as in... being in the middle means we would get less laying snow?... I know the snow charts are pretty much hit and miss on the whole but I do remember times when Yorkshire missed out on the goods to the extreme levels???...
  8. Who needs a TV when you've got 12z-18z of all model output comments to catch up on!... And the way this year is playing out so far has been incredibly entertaining!... Oscars all round ... Can we get these outputs down into the sub 5 days out is what I'm wondering... hoping... praying for!
  9. Ahhhhhh! must have missed the switch over!... i tend to go through the bulk of the days comments at lightening speed at the end of the day!... my bad hahaha!... thanks ICE COLD & World Topper
  10. Just got back from Work and "binge watched" todays series of the forum!... Maaaaan what a ride this is turning out to be!...... On another note... Ive noticed that a fairly regular poster hasn't been posting for a bit... anyone heard from "Jon Snow"... or can check up on them?... just seems odd that they wouldn't be joining in with this current output tale... night all

  12. Hi everyone... after promising myself EVERY year that I will take a break and just let the weather "surprise" me... I am once again drawn back in HAHAHA!... I openly admit that since day one (winter of 2008/09) my main reason for being here is to mainly figure out the potential for it to snow IMBY... it has and always will be this reason... I remember back in '08/09 and '09/10 I mainly used to just check the hourly forecast updates in the hope of seeing the magical grey snowing symbol... this quickly evolved to watching the forum and trying to get my head round what was being discussed hehehe!... again, I am clueless in comparison to the vast majority of skill level displayed on this amazing forum and I appreciate every last one of you on here who are able to read the models and explain... so I cannot thank you all enough. I see this Forum as a means of finding potential... be it clutching at straws or being smacked in the face with model output... for the actual weather I would never dream of going any further than 3 days out or even at its core looking outside and seeing what's actually going on... going outside and getting a feel (if that makes sense?)... ...All I can say is that having filled this forum since the winter of '09/10 it definitely "feels" a little different this year in terms of what the models are showing us... and again... its insanely clever computer systems predicting the future sooooo.... What I was wanting to ask is this... most years of, in the back ground, watching the models (with you guys)... I can't recall another winter where the biggest lobe of the PV has consistently been shown over the Eastern side of the map... in general I always remember seeing the majority of (or the biggest chunk) being situated mainly to the west over Alaska and Canada... Does anyone have any comparable winters from the past where the PV has been situated more over to the East? Anyway... long time lurker, part time poster signing out! ...Does seem to be shaping up to "something" according to the model crystal ball machines... we'll see i guess...
