  1. It was expected to ease off come midnight still falling at an intensity very worrisome. At least a once in a generation event IMO perhaps a once in a 50 year event or even 100 I'm not quite sure but it has been labelled 'unprecedented' by the professionals.
  2. Welcome to the forum Could you please provide your location via your profile settings...cheers Not particularly attention worthy here the wind meanwhile to the NW there's been great flooding and it's still ongoing. It is relentless having viewed the radar it seems that it's been going on for some 24-36 hours.
  3. Certainly not getting patchier/lighter...intensification if anything for some parts.

  5. First and foremost it is simply too early to say this is not typical for the month an unsettled spell is fairly normal to the extent Western Scotland and the NW England is seeing no! to me this month looks fairly average but the extremely mild temperatures we're seeing are uncanny to mid Autumn. Much of this month is yet to unravel.
  6. Kendal looks very badly hit indeed with more rainfall to come...furthering woes.
  7. Sure is a day full with weather thoughts goes to those folk and properties which are endangered by rising flood water with Christmas not so far away an awful time for the year for it - any time of year is bad! Unfortunately the NW is prone to such events once in a 10 year event this one is I imagine? The worst is yet to come...
  8. Exceptionally heavy rain courtesy of a passing squall, just passed it woke me up and here I am it also packed some nasty gusts. If it was a substantial deal colder I'd be leaping with excitement alas it is of the watery variety the temperature is a staggering very mild 14c and it feels winter is ever so far away. Normality has resumed I'm glad to report. .
  9. Fantastic feature! makes life a lot more easier on my iPad I usually just provided links to such material.
  10. Lovely I stick out like a sore thumb all for the wrong reasons! Terrific compilation of all that mass of data hats off to yaa. I wish to do better in 2016...
  11. Not so good with change first impressions very bland although probably deemed by many as more professional & sleek I browse on my iPad and I've not encountered any 'bad stuff'.
  12. Breaking curfew I'd like to go up to 4.7C however I do sense it will not be "westerlies all the way" do not assume it will be mild dominated I see at least one cold spell & at least one notable nasty windstorm.
  13. COP21: Rhone Glacier drone footage shows ice retreat http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-34908482
  14. Must be very sexy indeed... I do have an incline December will not be awash with zonality - I'm going to have a week or 2 absence from this site ta-ra. Unless something stirs up from the gutter?
  15. Very well written I do believe the core of the winter so to speak will be during January but I do not think February is a bust. Once winter 15/16 comes to a finale we can access how well or not you guys did.
  16. These barrages of lows modelled are having a go eroding +ve heights in Western Europe something we need to look out for once pressure wanes interest grows as shown by end of latest GFS perhaps we may have to endure stormy, wet conditions in ushering something much more seasonal? Seems like a waiting game!
  17. How sexy? Well these so called midies enjoy this oppressive cloud fest crud. A horrible day looking for winter to make a pounce...
  18. It is rather zonal with 'potential' any depressions will be carried like a conveyor belt straight to our shores I sense a very unsettled start to the winter is coming. I think we can wipe 2 weeks for any meaningful cold/snow aside from fleeting wintriness on uplands of northern Britain. I expect this to increasingly wane as we got into mid December into festive period I'll rather endure this now than New Years. A lot is riding on this Siberian high by the sound of it - it may be the catalyst we need to initiate something much more favourable.
  19. Catastrophic really on southern flank easily mean speeds over 100mph I wold imagine the mayor would allow folk to seek refuge in London Underground way worse than 1987 doesn't bear thinking about.
  20. If that vicious beast was over the UK a state of emergency would be declared.
