I had -5 at 5.30pm, as I was finishing early, no idea what the temp is outside, but the icicle has disappeared. Still plenty of lying snow here, remarkable after 6 day's. It will be a very different scene tomorrow sadly, and with the comments in the mad thread, it may be a while before winter returns for us.

Been watching the tornado tackles on you tube, unbelievable what's going on out there, every storm is either producing, or trying to produce a tornado

I can hear the dreaded drip drip drip, take it those dew points are above freezing, hopefully won't lose too much overnight, I want to build a little snowman here.

My mate has confirmed it's snowing at sea level, right on the coast, yet I'm 10 miles inland, and 200ft asl, yet it's rain, you couldn't make it up. Ha ha

What a beautiful sight it was the morning, crisp underfoot, and a perfect winter morning sun. Absolutely stunning

So nice to this thread come alive, proper winters day today, felt pleasent in the sun, but as soon as you got in the shade, you knew about it. Then once the sun had gone to bed, the temp plummeted. Will us in the snow starved south east, get a proper winter at long last, part of me is really hoping we do, but my sensible part, is concerned for people, who are worried about energy bills and food etc.

Oh no, i managed to find the saucer, it was 50 yrds away, in the neighbours garden, so it was a flying saucer, bet that looked spooky on a wild Halloween night
