Morning you glorious lot, felt adventurous a few mins ago, so braved the mad thread. Cannot believe there's still people in there, hanging onto the hope of winter. It's been a dismal showing, rain rain and more rain, it's raining again now. I'm ready for some warmth, not hot though, don't like hot. I just want this poor excuse of winter to go away, and to spend a few months realising it let alot of people down, and never to do it again. Naughty winter. Happy mothers day to all you mums, you do an unbelievable job, I'm off to pick up a surprise afternoon tea. Have a good day all.

lassie23 when we all want spring warmth, and sunny days to accompany the changing daylight hours lol

lassie23 absolutely, getting very tiresome going in there, clutching at non existent charts, I chucked the towel in on this winter at the end of Jan. Another huge disappointment for many in this thread. Been 11 yrs now, since a proper winter.

Morning all, another wet morning, like we haven't had enough rain. I just hope the water companies don't announce a hosepipe ban in the summer, there'll be roots. Another hugely disappointing winter for most sadly, and I'm wanting spring. You watch winter arrive, next month, when most want some warm days. Anyway, off to find a canoe, have a good day all.

Ooh its not good in the mad thread this morning, but I think we could all see, for our particular part of the world, that it was going to be another hugely frustrating winter. I would genuinely love to know, why it's rarer than hens teeth, to get anything decent here now. I'm not a believer in the climate change stuff as such, but there's no denying something has happened. I'm off out, to enjoy this lovely rain. Have a good day all

Anyway, I hope everybody is OK. No sign of anything snowy for us yet. To be honest, I'm not sure they'll be anything again. Seems to be getting harder and harder to get anything decent here now.

Well, the daffs are out, reminded me of knocker, not sure if knockers still on here, may have changed the name to something else

Well, isn't that just the ultimate carrot dangler, how the weather gods must be laughing their socks off. You can bet your life, that if this set up was with warmer temperatures, and the weatherman said, there's a system going through the channel, that may produce some rain, for the south east. It would move north by 75 miles, and be a complete washout.

I'm already looking forward to the summer.
Sitting on the beach at 11pm, staring into the channel, looking for even the faintest flash of lightning, which stems from a raging MCS in northern France.
What even is snow?
I often stand on the sea wall, at Jury's gap, camber sands, and watch all that delightful energy raging over northern France. We just seem to be on the periphery of anything decent, unless it's rain. 1 day it will happen

Or stood along the coast with our hoovers?
Currently 2.1c and falling, DP is -2.7c and rising. Still frost in all the shady areas the sun didn’t get to today so the ground temp is still below freezing.
I've only got a Tesco hoover, shall I upgrade to a shark or dyson

Yes, those gits in France are not deserving of the good stuff, so it's going to be sent to the south east in large quantities, where it will be thoroughly enjoyed

The models aren't going help us out. I think the only hope is if we all stand on the south coast and breathe in at the same time.
What time shall we meet

Truly fed up if I'm honest, it nigh on impossible it seems, to get a decent snowfall, bloody French, ha ha. Anyway if we can't have snow, let's have warm and DRY please

I haven’t been on here for a day, does anyone have a clue about Wednesday, keep hearing different stories, my weather apps are saying snow, then not and then back again
It's knife edge stuff, a shift northwards of 50-75 miles, will bring us into the snow zone. Going to be a nowcast event, fingers crossed we see a bit, this time next week, it'll feel sub tropical

The south east had a dumping over a week ago, my sister was in London and texted about the snow.
I got excited here at the same time, as we'd just had a light ground frost
The central Midlands is the least snowy place in the UK, even Cornwall gets more than us!!
Only selected parts of the south east, it wasn't an all region covering, here I had snow showers for much of the day, that amounted to nothing. It's always nice to see falling snow, but I'd love to get out amongst a huge dumping lol

Oh dear, it's not a happy place in the mad thread. I'm no expert in model watching, understanding etc etc, but what I do go on, is that when North America goes in the freezer, it rarely bodes well for us. The jet fires up, and the lows steam across towards up. From an imby perspective, I'm hoping for a shift northwards of 50 miles, so us snow starved south easterners, can get in on some fun.

Going to find something interesting to do instead
Good luck
I've come out, there's a low exiting Greenland that threatens to scupper the narnia outlook. If this cold spell goes belly up, that place will be full of disappointment and gloom.
