Quite impressive temp inversion / difference locally this morning. 1c at Edinburgh Airport (4 miles away in a straight line) but here with just a modest increase in elevation it's already 6c!
Local met station station shows a sharp temp decrease of 3c as soon as that first band hit. Fits in with how quickly it turned to snow.
The second band was a mix of hail, sleet and rain. Nowhere near the intensity of the first band.
Only evidence of snow this morning is a light dusting on the hill behind the house from about 250m+. Wee bit more of a covering in the higher Pentlands.
