  1. Very light snow here, and some nice icicles forming on the street lights. I was just chatting with my brother in Edmonton (Canada). It's not snowing there but they are under part of the polar vortex and last night it went down to -47c and has it's risen to a barmy -36c now. Not sure the uk could cope with those temperatures.
  2. well its been snowing all types of snow flakes from graupel the large snow flakes since 7am. Its mainly been very small flakes but has built up to give around 3cms. It took until around 4pm and a blizzard of graupel to eventually cover the roads and pavements and that has lasted as the temps fell below 0c, and the icicles began to form. It was very still about 10 mins ago but the wind has just wipped up again and more grains of snow are falling. The met office app for Kenley is showing that the temp won't get above freezing until new Saturday lunchtime
  3. Blowing a hoolly at the moment and the small snowflakes are going horizontally across the garden. Starting to settle on the grass but not on roads, cars etc.
  4. A brief snow shower to give a light dusting in places but almost stopped now and blue sky appearing.
  5. Well it’s all rather disappointing. Did think there might be a dusting here but only now do we have a few flakes in the wind. We will see how the day pans out.
  6. Wind is howling outside, but no precipitation of any kind at present. Some large puddles around though.
  7. i see for my area the met office now has a high on mon & tue of -2c, Sunday and wednesday has highs of 0c ( so 4 ice days in total)
  8. I'll be heading up onto Farthing downs, or possibly up to Kenley airfield, although the snow does pile up quite nicely in Happy Valley, when we get a decent fall of course.
  9. Definately looks like it will feel chilly on Sunday around here, and possible some decent snow up here on the north downs.
  10. Perhaps its taking longer to settle in to its new home in Bologna after 50 + years in Reading, you now how it is when moving house.
  11. While while it was dry, and i don't mean under foot, I ti'd go out for a walk as the met office app just showed cloud all day. It definately felt cooler coming back home and i now check the met office forecast for Kenley this afternoon to see all the cloud symbols have disappeared to be replaced by it showing sleet and light snow showers now from 2 until 8pm. I guess it just shows what fine marguins things are these days and how the models are struggling.
  12. It’s been pouring all morning but is now a bit lighter. The temp is definitely dropping. When I was walking the dog it was very mild but as we were coming back you noticed the drop in temp and could Start seeing your breath. The ground though is absolutely sodden, and that’s on a chalk soil.
  13. A chilly morning, but the radar has had us under light rain for the last hour, but so far its still dry. Which will almost certainly chnage now i've posted this
  14. the met office frecast has changed again. no heavy snow now, and just light snow for 1 hour at 11pm , so the four hours of snow has gone.
  15. The wrap around has started so the band of precepitation should start moving back south and out of the SE ealry tomorrow morning.
  16. well, earlier i mentioned that the met office had my area down for 4 hours of light snow from 10pm, thats been updated to light snow from10-11, 11-12 Heavy Snow, midnight to 1am light snow, and now not getting above freezing until midday.
  17. Just noticed the met office weather shows light snow from 22:00 to 02:00 tonight which is 3 hours longer than they predicted earlier this morning, so the wrap around does look like coming through. Also the temps for tonight are a degree or two lower as well.
  18. Just before it got even heavier earlier this morning. Even a good covering in the woods
  19. Well we have had snow of varying intensity That has now stopped. About 4cm of snow
