  1. 6 hours of quite heavy snow in Penarth, been settling since 8.30ish, 4-5 cm at least, no sign of easing off as yet
  2. More here in Penarth than we had Friday, still pelting down, good size flakes whipped around by a healthy breeze. met office radar has us down for a good few hours of this yet, fingers crossed...
  3. Heavy snow in Penarth for 4 hours now, getting heavier if anything 1 mile from coast 30m asl, about an inch deep now, only been sticking for past hour
  4. Penarth - 30m asl, 1 mile from coastl - blizzard conditions now, several cm deep already
  5. GFS 12z output gives cardiff a 30% chance of snow friday according to netweather forecast - do people think this is about right or too high or too low as it stands now, given other model output?
  6. The Met Office is forecasting 6 celsius and heavy rain for S Wales on saturday (on the desktop widget you can download from their website). This was updated at 19:00 hours today. Can any experienced forecasters explain why their interpretation of the models differs from much of what is suggested in this forum, with many here talking about a snow event on saturday in southern Britain? Many thanks
