  1. No mention just on BBC 1 just rain, rain, rain. Brief respite on tuesday, more rain on wednesday.
  2. Are you not biased Knocker? Not even a little, insy bit? Come on,the forum's in self-destruct tonight, time to fess up.
  3. That be that then. Happy new year everyone and hey, spring is coming
  4. Steve, when you say"very cold Eastely" do you mean Nationwide?
  5. Press the command key and right click twice, option will appear to delete quote
  6. Then there's always 9th March 1891 (great cornish blizzard)
  7. Think most here would willingly sell their grandmother's to be where you are ,daz.
  8. Look's like i'm entering my third month of ground-hog weather(wet, windy, mild) temps might drop of a bit(10-11c instead of 13-14) I say, lucky me. Can't for the life of me understand what all the exitment is about, all i see is rain, rain and more rain. Good luck to those of you in the shetlands, you might get lucky. To many people chasing pot's of gold,i think.Need to take a truth pill and start building your Ark.
  9. Going by the latest output,i think the word "battleground" will start to appear more and more over the coming days. Hate that word.Only means one thing for me in cornwall,Rain, rain and more rain. Usually a snowfest for all parts East, bar here.
  10. Agreed.LOL, this forum is priceless.2 hours from now it will be all change again. The 384hr chart is epic, would love to see it happen, but it's chip paper unfortunately.
  11. What's the betting we get a big change in the weather just in time for spring. Nice cold april anyone? Weather, get a grip for -----'s sake.
  12. Yeah,in the wind and rain, truly magical. I'll take your word for it though Knocker,Take it your out there tonight, tongues in hand with your apron on.
  13. Want to ask a question. If you look at the GFS12z @348hrs there is a really tight squeeze in the isobars down the east side of greenland. I know this isn't un-common,and seems to happen regulary. I think i'm right in saying, thay are called "katabatic" winds, although i may be wrong. My question is,are those winds really that strong and what kinds of speeds are we talking about? Sometimes you can't see any space between the lines! Such wind speeds in the U.K would be a calamity of the highest order.
  14. If i had to pick a month for some cold weather it would be Jan or even Feb,especially down here where the sea is usually to warm in Dec anyway. Take a positive out of the present set-up,it can't stay like this forever, the weather will change,it always does. Another 3-4 weeks to keep knocker happy and then BOOM,a January "beast from the east". I'll drink to that
  15. I'll keep you to that Knocker. Look foreword to your" cold plunge" posts when one arrives. You won't go all AWOL on us,will you?
  16. Insanely mild today. In short's and T shirt at work, pleasant as well in the morning with some sunshine. At this rate,Knocker's dafs will have been and gone by new year. Cant see much hope in the output tbh, straw clutching for the next few weeks by the look's of things. 45 years old and never seen a white xmas maybe next year
  17. My take on things at the moment is,more of the same please. I say, let's have all this typical, boring, irritating weather now,in nov and even up to the xmas period, loads of it,week after week after week. Let it rain and blow a hoolie as much as it wants. It has to end at some point,it always does. Now for the IMBY bit(sorry) down here we have as much chance of seeing a decent cold spell this side of xmas as plymouth has of staying top of league 2. Save the nice East Winds for when they'll make a difference. So,my wish,Atlantic wind and rain till xmas, turning colder around new year, snowmaggedden first half of Jan. If only
  18. For me it has to be Jan 87. Got cut off for 7-8 days, will never forget seeing snow drifts up level with the top of the lanes, cars completely buried and the sea frozen. Think i'm right in saying that temp's got down to -13c,probably a record for the lizard peninsula.
  19. Good old south west. Not one single mention of anything wintry from Mr Braine tonight. Strong winds with a wind chill is all thats on offer.
