  1. Just got power back after 8 hour cut. Today's storm packed a punch down here. Lots of trees down and v high seas. Can do without this kind of weather if i'm honest, just a big pain.
  2. Can see 6 french trawler's,trying to shelter in the bay. Least the fish get a day off from the thieving french BASDS lovely European counterparts
  3. Lucky.Blowing a hoolie here, really raging. Just taken a branch off my specimen Ceanothus
  4. Oh yeah, remember that. spose he's pushing up daisey's now.
  5. Cant say as i do but remember him and Mike Milburn. Like Blur V Oasis of the fishing world. They dont make telly like that anymore.
  6. Know it well, only a few miles away. Bit blowy though,south-west facing and busy in the summer, alot of emit's.
  7. Whatever. I dont live in the south anyway. I live in Cornwall
  8. Ah,but i could say "somerset" in the south!! That's a day's journey north from here
  9. Do your anomalies ever show much change,Knocker? If only Calsberg did anomalies
  10. Come on Knocker, you've watched spotlight as much as i have. Beginning to think he's one of your relatives.
  11. It's not them,it's the BBC's bias towards mild weather. Lost count of the amount of times our local presenter has presented a forecast giving heavy rain, howling gales, prepare for structal damage, but ends with a big smile on his face saying,"at least it will be mild" Heaven forbid we might have a touch of frost, run to the hills, run for your lives. Seems that flooding, storm force winds and power cuts are preferred to a bit of grass frost.
  12. Lol,that's some good book keeping.Or your accountant's an a-se
  13. Agreed, trouble is,not many people want to talk about wind, makes for a quick conversation. Personally, high winds dont float my boat, sink it more like. Just a pain in the bum if you ask me.
  14. To many people giving up on winter today. It's the 1st of Feb for ----'s sake, not March18th See even 1 of the big hitter's on the mod thread, ready to through in the towel if the Ecm12's is poor. Really, brave call if you ask me. For all i know,3 weeks from now,i might be sledging down my favourite hill. Probalbly won't but hey,you never know. If there's 1 thing above all else iv'e learned on here,it's that things can change quickly. Today's horror show can be tomorrow's Nivarna. Personally,i think something's coming, dont know why, cant post any charts to back this up,just a feeling iv'e got. Saying something when probably, the most southely member of this forum, still has hope.
  15. Viewing the latest model output, reminds me of a kids T.V show from the 80's "Why dont you" What was it they said? "Sitting at home watching T.V,turn it off,it's no good to me. Think i'll turn of my lap-top and go out and do something less boring instead.
  16. You must remember jan 87,knocker. The lizard was cut off for about a week, snow drift's up level with the hedges, gillan creek where i lived, almost frozen solid. Haven't seen anything even remotely like it since. Once in a 50 year event.
  17. Is that it? Is that your cold plunge post,iv'e been waiting for? Well done, you've done it,do you feel liberated?
  18. It's all relative though, isn't it. Yes,if your looking for minus double digits with foot long icicles, hanging off the gutters, then your probably right. But,if like me,you would be happy with a couple of snow shower's and an hours sledging, then no,winter's not over. Feb hasn't even begun yet, plenty of time to see some white stuff. People need to be realistic, this is the U.K,it will be mostly mild, most winter's. One of the best snowfall's recently, here, was 28th feb 2004. Feb 28th is STILL, 5 weeks away, keep the faith.
  19. Take it,your not a fan of this torpedo malarkey,Knocker
