  1. Hi blizzards, just wondering how the weather feels up there as apposed to here. Still got a few relatives in the potteries and when ever they visit, the first thing they comment on is how much milder it feels down here. Missed a good day here today(wall to wall sunshine) .
  2. A lovely day here today, almost unbroken sunshine.First time in about seems like ever,i needed my sunglasses, trouble was,i couldn't find them All change now, cloud filling in and wind increasing AGAIN. Looks like it might be a bit wet tomorrow. A tradition down here, is to go cockleing at low tide on good friday(all the hooray henry's down for easter love it). Maybe this year,if the forecast is right, the cockles will get a reprieve
  3. Turning out to be quite wet now. Started of as snow grains this morning but as the day has gone on,it's got more and more watery. Probably call it sleet at best now. Mind you,i'am only one field from the sea.
  4. might get a shower today. Gut feeling that it might be rain if anything at the weekend though. Atlantic incursions are dodgy here at the best of times let alone april!!
  5. did you see the odd flake in truro last night? Few bits and pieces here around 9pm
  6. Why is the sky suddenly getting brighter? Dont understand and feeling a bit scared, can someone help?
  7. I know your frustration. We did get lucky here and have about 1 inch in the jan cold spell, but that was gone by lunchtime. I'am afraid we live in the most snowless county and that's all you can say really. Make up for it in other ways though, dont we
  8. Call me thick but iv'e read your post about 10 times now andTBH i dont get your meaning Take it it's some sort of p--s take! As for the french, they have bigger boats.
  9. On a positive note,if this goes on much longer,we can start chasing the first frosts of autumn EDIT where has cerneman gone. Miss our fishy chats.
  10. Is it my laptop or is the ECM model stuck at the 12z yesterday?
  11. It's a way of life, salt in the veins and all that.Last of the hunter gatherers.Never going to get rich but who cares. Bit better weather would be handy however.
  12. Unfortunately,i can believe it. Not that it's all down to the east wind, but thats a different story
  13. They give rise to high sea states(on-shore winds) on the channel side of the liz penninsula. Just to rough for our small boats to fish in.
  14. On a more serious note, these east winds really are disastrous for the local fishing fleet. 5 weeks now of almost continuous east winds with,if tonight's ecm is to belived,no end in sight. Most boats from the helford/lizard area have not done more than 5-6 days fishing since xmas, and to say they are struggling would be an understatment. Putting my fishing hat on,these east winds cant end soon enough. Seems like the weather is just stuck in the same pattern, recycling it'self every 10 days or so. If were not careful,i can see us losing spring altogether. EDIT just realised iv'e been looking at sat12 ecm .maybe things have changed.
  15. Oh come on AWD,give us pixies some sort of hope . Party pooper
  16. Dont think i've ever been on the right side of marginal Your frustrated, try living down here!!
  17. Saw a couple of butterflies back a few weeks ago when things were milder. Cant exactly remember now but i think they where S.torts
