  1. http://www.wunderground.com/blog/JeffMasters/comment.html?entrynum=2902 Perfect example of how things can change so quickly. In this case for the better !!
  2. BBC weather on tv shows city temps only. Occasionally they show temps in the countryside. At the mo they are running temps over the 'snow fields'. Accurate temps? Go on 'wunderground' where many imby forecsdters upload weather data.
  3. Why do people always take charts ten or more days in advance as gospel ?? Just makes them look stupid !! No weather charts should ever go beyond 7 days. To have a two week gfs just seems pointless as charts past day 7 rarely bare fruition!!
  4. Sorry for the small bit of language at the start !! trim.744C424C-4917-4268-BDA9-5257A83A5479.MOV
  5. Some pretty bad flooding here in Guernsey. Large sections of our west coast took a beating. Got some good vids which I'll put up soon
  6. You won't float past us. Wrong wind direction !! You might bounce along the south coast a bit and then end up at Norway !
  7. Well we got a small battering on tonight's high tide. A number of sea walls breached flooding main roads on both sides of the island and that was without the wind. Wind has really got up with this narrow rain band pushing through. Can't wait for the morning now.
  8. Wasn't it back on mid December that people were banging on about a cold outlook from the start of the new year ? Erm where's that then as the way I see it nothing has changed and the zonal weather will continue for at least another two weeks. Nothing out to suggest any good news for cold lovers. Write this month off in my book. It's going to be all about mid feb onwards in my eyes.
  9. Safe to say tomorrow morning should be interesting here in Guernsey. High winds and a spring tide around 8am will guarantee some heavy coastal flooding. Will be venturing out to take some pics and vids.
  10. Heavy sleet shower in Guernsey !! Raw wind too. Working on my car outside is not fun.
  11. Keep coming south !!! Blitz the Channel Islands again please !!
  12. Occasional sunny skies in Guernsey now, rapid thaw has commenced
  13. Yeah its been pretty crazy over here last 2 days. And to think that i had shorts on last Saturday !! Luckily for me work has shut at 3pm the last 2 days and when was my shift due to start ?? 3pm !! lol. Will be venturing out to get more pics in the morning in my fwd car !! Was in a pickup today and was restricted as there was 3 of us cramped in a 2 seater !! Just such a difference between the two ends of Guernsey. Top half is no more than 15-20m asl and the bottom end is 80-102m asl. It really is like a different world when you drive up the hills. Pure carnage. So, so many trees down. How no one wasn't injured or killed is beyond me.
  14. The view on my clos early Monday morning My garden fence destroyed !! knee deep no drift ! Today Drifting today this is around 90m asl Abandoned cars from people trying to get home Monday Trees down took some of the road with it Doesnt look like it but this is a main road ! 80m asl !!! drifting !!! walking the dog this evening with the mrs, 10m asl
  15. Just uploading pics onto the Lapps of the snow in Guernsey. Will post up soon
  16. Back home after another day sledging. Went down some tight lanes and was met by a wall of snow. Turned out it was an abandoned van and was covered !! The drift reached 8ft in places !! So many tress down too. Thaw has begun but schools closed again tomorrow and my work closed before my shift began !!
  17. Temp nearly 1 snow now stopped. Still blowing hard and now having coast flooding !! Think we've had our fill in Guernsey to be honest !
  18. Well what a day. Stupid amount of snow, great sledging, put the car into a wall and 2 hedges, mother crashed the sledge in a tree and still up a&e getting stitches in her face and the find out via text that my fence has blown down !!! Trees down everywhere, car crash city and still snowing. Back out in it @ 7am !!
  19. Massive snowfall here in Guernsey. Inland has got 8-9 inches. Cars stranded everywhere just taken an hour to drive 4 miles. Proper blizzard.
  20. Not often I agree with a crapaud but us donkeys are just as excited as you guys. This could be massive for the Channel Islands
  21. Still looking good for us in the Channel Islands !! Sledges at the ready !!
