eh? that's the way it is though, I expect nowadays the Atlantic to dominate from late Nov through to at least Mid Feb, whenever it dosen't is rare and a bonus especially early Dec to mid Jan, to me is the most westerly/stormiest period of the year
Agree about Feb being coldest month and Dec warmest, but isn't that only because of frequency of Atlantic air/low pressure? surely if we had exactly same setup mid Dec and mid Feb, mid Dec would be colder, seas colder also in Feb, colder still in march
early cold way better, late Feb is just too warm, but seas the other way too cold for decent showers, Dec colder land/temps warmer seas bigger showers
Wed does not interest me, models overdo snow potential, can guarantee nearer time that will downgrade to north only
I agree with this, roll on Summer, charts look absolute pants for my location if it's snow/cold or warmth you're after
wouldn't agree though if I lived at decent elevation oop norf, would be thinking stuff summer bring on the snaw
April though creates convective cloud, unless easterlies, then my area struggles with north sea dirt, mist burnt off very quickly today, by 8am, same setup in say May, would take until 1pm ish
5th Jan got around 8cms, evening of 23rd Dec was my first snow around 2cms, then around 2cms on 31st
remember 20th Dec too well, could see the showers tracking ESE missing me, Stockport damn. similar on 22nd
shame this setup not possible in Dec, due to raging zonality, but if it was, would be miles colder, ice days, but the reason Feb is the coldest month due to less Atlantic influence
