  1. Well today turned out different to what I expected. A quite strong ene wind, highest gust has been 58 mph, although most are in between 40-45. Very sunny, that's the it that surprised me, was expecting another grey day. The day is mild but the wind is cold. Temp right now is 9.9, Apparent temp is 2.4
  2. And I recall they did amber warn some of the rain in the SW, but that was the day before the storm hit, might that be why they didn't name it?
  3. I'm in two minds here, on the one hand winds were weaker although more wide spread, so probably doesn't come into naming territory as a wind storm. However it did cause many problems with rain amounts. I guess it comes into, do they name storms for excessive rain rather than strong winds. If they are naming storms likely to cause major flooding this should have been named, if they are not, it shouldn't have been. Does anyone know if they are naming storms for flooding purposes?
  4. Over night wind peaked this morning 6:30 at 62 mph. Same as last night when the first started.
  5. Highest gust down here so far is 62 mph, that was at around 11:45 PM
  6. Rain has just started here, not much wind about at the min. Largest gust over night was 50 mph at about 5:30 again. Winds seem to like that time around here lol.
  7. lol the wind did it, although I would have loved it to have snowed last night.
  8. Went out to shoot some pool, and found out a friend of mines window frame was broke by the storm last night.
  9. Yep that's when I went to bed, highest gust here was at around 5:30 80 mph. Was fast asleep and it didn't wake me. Some caravans got trashed in capel and some trees down here and there. Some sort of sea emergency that was in the news apparently although I haven't watched any TV today.
  10. Wow even on xc weather it's marked up at 62 mph gusts, at the sort of time I had a couple of 68 mph gusts. Was thinking it was my station. Valey funnelling accounts for the extra probably. http://www.xcweather.co.uk/
  11. It happened during the heavy rain, I'm guessing it's convective in nature and bought some upper wind down with it.
  12. Highest gust here so far is 68 mph now, the storm is no where near here yet.
  13. Highest gust now 58 MPH, and heavy rain has started here.
  14. Good luck to those in the path. Em how long do these things last, will it have blown out before it reaches here.
  15. Highest gust here so far is 52 mph, gusting regularly between 45 and 50.
  16. I'm in the 80 to 90 bit. If I hear what I heard during 87 wind wise I'll let you know.
  17. Well I've already had a 52 mph gust and the winds have just started. How far away is the storm, and is it moving through early?
  18. Don't think the north sea is somewhere I want to be right now. http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=radar;sess= That band looks very dangerous.
