  1. Summer 1994 was a great one for lovers of thundery plumes.
  2. Isn't that the problem though it is in retrospect?Look it this way, how would you answer this question. What was the first CET month to return a value that was below the 1961-1990 average? Is it January 1659, 350 years before or January 1991, the first month to occur after 1961-90 came into existence? It's getting mathematically philosophical this
  3. Yes but you can't say the last time it happened is before what you are comparing it to existed.
  4. 18 years ago, it was a beautiful sunny day for many parts. Maybe at the back end of next week if ECM is right?
  5. But the 1961-90 average didn't exist in 1979. So in reality if June is below the 1961-90 average then it will be the first time since 1961-90 averages came into existence that there have been 6 consecutive months below the 1961-90 average.
  6. The thunderstorms caused this tornado near Coventry
  7. Why not an autumn thread? This summer thread after all was started on the 4th of April, when we were still freezing.
  8. Forecast from 19th June 2005http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNHfqtpUwjI
  9. Vibration looks the answer but why aren't the others affected?
  10. What is causing this Egyptian statuette to move at a Manchester museum? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newsvideo/weirdnewsvideo/10137556/Manchester-Museums-mysterious-spinning-Egyptian-statuette-caught-on-camera.html
  11. The last conclusively above average month, i.e. one that was above 1961-90, 1971-2000 and 1981-2010 averages was August 2012! I remember November 2003 to October 2005 on net.weather and the "when are we going to see a below average month?" question being asked.
  12. 16th May 2005, the day, the BBC Weather centre introduced the new graphics. Remember the kick up over the angle the UK was at?
