-1.3 was the low last night. Is April the new winter?

Well it was 2C here around the time when I opened the curtains this morning to the sight of wet snow falling. Made a good attempt to snow for the next hour or so, which is more than it did for most of the traditional winter period. Much nicer later in the day, almost pleasant despite the temp maxing out at 7.7C

  2. Only 59.7mm so far here for April, according to amateur station along the road (so accuracy may be questionable). Rather decent day for the most part, with a sunny high of 16.7C just edging out yesterday for the warmest day of the year so far. Very breezy though, great for drying sheets and towels, may even have a run across the grass with the mower tomorrow. It's not exactly desperate for a cut, just taking chances when I get them.

  3. Spring, what Spring? Looks as if Thursday and Friday may be decent before we head downhill again.

A high of 8C today, but that was around 1am, daylight hours have been around 5C. Rain hasn't been as bad as it could have been, 18.8mm so far, none of it at all welcome but compared to some days over the last few months it's merely 'normal'.

  4. 2C and could be just about called wet snow when I left for work this morning, 1C and definitely snowing when I got home. Very wet and struggling to settle but hills have a wet looking sparse cover. Doesn't look from recent forecasts that it'll come to anything much more than that.

Heading to France at the end the week for Easter, hopefully making it to Montgenevre in the alps with the motorhome, on the French/Italian border. Forecast for there is looking quite snowy this week, so with luck I'll post some skiing pics.

As for me, I am off to Les Menuires in the 3 valleys tomorrow.

Insanely jealous, enjoy it, and if your ski bag is a bit overweight, I haven't snuck into it, honest. We're definitely heading across the channel with the motorhome for the first two weeks of April, whether we head to the Alps to try to get a few days skiing in depends on whether we think it's going to be worth the effort. That'll largely depend on snow conditions.

Decent day here today, lots of sun, little wind, dog walk felt warm at times even if temp was only mid single figures.

My skis have barely left the garage in the last 7/8 years, either due to lack of snow or weather not playing ball when have the free time. ☹️

Pretty much the same here, with Covid restrictions also in the mix at times. Not sure it's looking too promising for our half planned drive to the Alps with the motorhome the first 2 weeks of April either. Unless there's some cold snowy weather incoming I doubt it'll be worth the effort.

Nothing much to say of the weather here the last few days other than I think I'm going to have to stop wearing a jumper, even a thin one, to work. Mid Feb and I'm thinking of switching back to 'summer mode' clothes wise. 🙄

    That doesn't make happy reading

Might make Scotland's winters a bit colder, not as much "modification across warm seas". Not sure I'd want to experience the other possible consequences though.

Yukky day here too, 2.4C, grey and misty, light drizzle, melting of any lying snow. 8f winter isn't going to arrive properly then yes, spring please.
