  1. Nothing in Cambridge again. Will the band make it this far north though? Thanks to anyone who replies.
  2. Snowing in south Cambridgeshire pretty hard now. Upto 3cm's and according to the radar there is plenty more to come. Also, to everyone who has had hardly any snow today good luck on Sunday!!!
  3. So what are the chances of snow from this front for Cambridge according to the latest set of models. Looks like a snowy gfs run and should be one of the coldest runs. Anyone who replies to this post will be of greatest help as i am travelling from cambridge to bristol early saturday morning.
  4. Whats the chances of the wraparound snow affecting south Cambridgeshire/North essex border tonight. Thankscto anyone who applies.
  5. Snow amount on the front edge has reduced greater over the last hour. Sleet now becoming the major weather front. Is it forecast for the sleet to turn to heavy snow over east anglia/north london
  6. Any snow chances for the South Cambridgeshire/North Essex border. My house is just in Cambridgeshire if that helps. I know the model watching is fascinating but i want the heavy snow to happen tomorrow. Would anyone say that the week could have extra snow fall into central east anglian. Snow chances for tomorrow night/tuesday morning as the low pressure system sinks south. Any extra snow in the wrap of the front??
  7. 80s weather- the snowfall for monday into tuesday is like last february however there won't be as much snow this time. I feel areas from London to the Wash will do very well out of monday's event. Places like Hertford, Cambridge and Peterborough could see 5-10cm out of the event. Charts just need firming up on how west the band is.
  8. GFS op has backup from CFS!!!! Dust off the sledges!!! The CFS run has been hinting at a low just south of the UK on the 21st of January now for a few runs and GFS now following.
  9. @fergieweather Maybe it me being a dunce but what is shannon entropy?
  10. gfs 18z op is NOT a outlier according to the ensembles however it is the pub run. The GFS 6z and 18z runs have the least data entered into them anyway. GFS and ECM 0z will be one of those runs which will be a building block for the end of the weekend/beginning of next week. P.S- Save the pub run charts for years to come because the charts are amazing to see. Bookmark it, watch it and bring it in. (like the man city vs qpr winning goal)
  11. well john hammond has jinxed it now! i think that a major event is on the way similar to '85 although i still think that the real push for cold conditions will hit west europe from about the 25th jan onwards.
  12. For the last 5 op runs now we have had 4 scandy highs and 1 greenland high. It will be mighty interesting to see what the 12z runs will bring. Hopefully the UKMO and ECM will join with GFS and JMA to bring in the scandy high. We are just waiting for that pesky shortwave to go through Europe and sending the UK into the freezer!!!!
