  1. On my drive from Coventry to Market Harborough the temperature fluctuated quite a bit. -1.5°C at home 0°C on the M6 and -3°C here in Harborough. It is much whiter over here than at home. Was worried about the driving tomorrow but the weather on the BBC this morning shows the heavy snow all down towards the south west. I would love some decent snow but I still need to get to work. Matt Hugo also thinks the snow is going to be more in the West.
  2. Good Afternoon All, It has been snowing here in Coventry since before lunch. It hasn't added much to those areas where the snow had thawed but it is now starting to stick. We did quite well he yesterday with about 3 to 4 inches. As I am in the office it is hard to tell how much has been added to that today. If what the meto rainfall chart is showing stays as snow then we should see a bit more yet. My eight year old son thought yesterday was the best day of his life, he built his first ever snowman. Good luck all, shame it is going to warm up after this.
  3. Thank you, so many models to look at, to a novice like me it is hard to follow.
  4. Good Afternoon Steve, You say that the UKMO has trended south, do you have any idea where this will bring the linee of precip. The GFS sample point for my area is showing precip but the DAM is above 528. Will this mean that the precip will more likely fall as rain? Cheers Paulo
  5. Good Afternoon All, Here in Coventry we have had an unbeleivable storm, not sure of how much rain fell initially but it was wild. To me it was like when you see the TV reports during a hurricane. It went very dark, lots of lighning and thunder and the wind and rain was amazing. The Met office appear to have a lot of weather warnings out. Sorry everyone stay safe. Cheers
  6. As far as I remember doesn't the earth take 365.25 days to go around the sun. The extra day then brings us back into line. Thus the seasons move by 0.25 of a day per year. The leap year day then corrects this.
  7. This was taken on Dec 8th 1990 at my parents house in Coventry. It was the day after my 18th birthday and is the best/wprst weather I can ever remember. This is about 12" of snow and it fell in about 5-6 hours. A large amount of the out lying villages lost water & electricity. It is the only day I remember the buses being stopped. It was a day to remember for many people for lots of reasons. I would prefer not to see the disruption but I would love to see this image again.
