fully agree....Of course if we get snow warnings for our region within say 48 hrs of event, We may all get interested,, Hang on a bit, Didn't that already happen earlier this week, and look how that turned out,,,Some of us might be getting a little bored of all this winteryness particularly those of us who work outside!!!

Been very nice fresh day, Nothing extreme just full of variety. Snow flakes followed by sunny spells this morning,, Sun and showers this afternoon, Hail, sleet, ice crystals all in mix to make interesting weather,
Nothing exceptional in cloud formations just mobile and constantly changing,,, Even managed to start cleaning out pond,,

Second fire in area over last 10 days,,,,,,,,,,,High grass land here that exposed to wind is tinder-dry even though the ground still wet and boggy, can only think effect of the drying winds,,,,,,,,,,,,,There has been a large heath fire here, 70 firefighters at the scene, the road was shut betwen Wareham and Corfe Castle.
They now have it under control and the road is about to reopen but the fire brigade have warned, the heathland is very dry at the moment.
I'm surprised at it being that dry, a recent walk across Arne heath showed it to be very boggy with a lot of pools of water.
Ice crystays and sleety here at moment,,,Had bit of everything today,,,,Snowflakes,Sun,Rain,Hail and sleet
Heath fire today Wareham from Echo

You mediated that strike well,,,I withdraw Industrial action,,,,Well you be grateful for that 2mm, some places have seen nothing at all, any snow at this time of the year is a bonus surely?
Here we have had a fair bit fall, but not much has settled, everytime it stopped today the dusting melted, but I am more than happy to have seen snow fall, even if there isn't much to show for it You mediated that strike well,,,I withdraw Industrial action,,
Just to add that the temperature has actually risen here, it was -0.3C at 6pm & it is now +0.1C

Winters been one big tease, then decides to overstay it's welcome to provide yet another tease,,,,,It's all over! After a day of constant snowfall what is left to remind us, nothin.
The roads and pavements are dry as the wind erases the last few remaining snowflakes.
What a day IT COULD HAVE BEEN!

Think what makes these events so memorable is that everything got to fall in place just at the right time, When it does "BINGO"Overall a pretty disappointing episode. The only extreme thing being the temps and windchill.
As for snowfall. This has been yet another event which proves just how much the exact track of the the channel low is of vital importance to proper snow chances. Even as I write this the radar show heavy snow pehaps 30 miles to the south of me in the Channel where it is happily melting on impact with the sea. A slightly more northern track and we'd have been talking about a very special event for mid march in southern England. As it is we got a dusting not a dumping and even the met office couldn't get the track right 12 hours before it all happened. ( not a criticism) , which just goes to show how hard it is to get it right.
Having had three channel lows in four days back in Feb 1978 that delivered copiously maybe i have used up my lifetime quota of the b*****s.
