  1. I must say as a person who is allergic to heat i for one have loved the cool Spring and cool early Summer weather we've had/are having. Looking at the current output it doesn't look like things are in a hurry to change. Long may it continue....

i agree too, love going to a beach to see it completely deserted and having to where three layers so i dont get hypothermia.

17C today, felt warm, UKMO forecasting more warm feeling days to wednesday, summers are nowhere near as pleasant as our icelandic neighbours, only shetland islands have anywhere near them

How can you be allergic to heat? Sorry if you are but never heard of it before.

  2. Lovely looking charts for early March :) Not sure if they'll verify, but a re-run of March 2013 would suit me just fine! .....Is Spring the new Winter?

it doesn't bother me either way life will still go on, I wouldn't mind a 2013 revisit.

  4. Well, my 'February is gonna be special' comment that i made in the regional's a couple of weeks ago has well and truly gone up in flames. 12c here today. Oh my days! It's got an early hibernation written all over it.

We will be for sure! I still hope for a couple of wintry spells in March but we'll see. I hate a warm spring! :-(

^Karyo^. Yes cold winters in warm years are the new cold years! I hate warm years, warm winters, warm springs and warm summers and warm autumns! lol! :D

  5. Well, the winds have finally shifted round to a more favourable direction for this part of the world. 5 snow showers so far today. Great stuff!

  6. Correct He was talking about a little feature set to run down the Country on Tuesday. He had already highlighted the 'potential' for N.sea/SE coasts in an earlier post.
  7. Looking at the short ECM ENS for de bilt the Op was very much on the mild side at Days 9 - 10, but did have support from the Control. http://www.knmi.nl/exp/pluim/index.php
  8. Yep, they sure are, but at that time frame the Day 10 ECM chart has as much chance of verifying as me going on a date with Angelina Jolie. Meanwhile, back in the real world... Cracking Day 5 ECM + GFS charts for all cold lovers, and in the meantime the possibility of a few Snow showers lapping onto Eastern Coasts, and maybe spreading a little inland at times too. Enjoy.
  9. And some incredibly low night time temperatures if this chart was to verify. -10 certainly not out of the question, especially places with snow cover.
  10. Lol!! Yes, i'm hoping tonight will bring the goods to Essex. Be nice to see a proper/decent covering for a change.
  11. Hmm, i'm not sure i would say Essex has done 'too' well so far with regards to snow, but can't really complain as 'usually' NW'ly/N'ly winds don't bring much snow to these parts, so today has been a pleasant surprise. Looking forwards to if / when the winds turn more NE'ly on Tuesday/Wednesday as the fun and games 'could' really begin then. And by the way, how many Daniels are there on this thread? Seems there is quite a few. My name is Daniel too
  12. Still snowing quite heavily here but struggling to settle though as ground is quite wet.
  13. Heavy snow!! :)

then a uk high setting up, eugene will enjoy that

  14. Started off as rain here, but now turning to heavy snow. Huge flakes!
  15. Yes, quite a few members in FI showing HP close too, or around the UK, a regular occurrence as of late. Higher upper temps for sure, but cold at the surface. P15 my favourite http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/gefs_cartes.php?code=15&ech=372&mode=0&carte=0
  16. Yep, and even some of those recent ENS members that have been showing 'milder' 850 temps have mostly been down to HP sat over the top of us - which would undoubtedly mean it would be cold at the surface. Same applies to the 18Z Ens too by the looks of things. The outlook looks like a cold one to me, with not much sign of any change for at least the next week, maybe two. Edit: Pert 4 has lost the plot! http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/gefs_cartes.php?code=4&ech=348&mode=0&carte=0
  17. Yes, some very nice ENS members tonight. Probably the coldest set of the Winter so far out to Day 8. And it's not often you see a Day 8 mean PPN chart like this either.. I have a feeling this cold spell could last a lot longer than some people think.
  18. Couldn't agree more Nick. GFS 18Z op seems to be way too progressive. Can't quite believe how good the 18Z Ens are. Some staggering members amongst them.
  19. ECM 12Z ENS for London. One or two people were saying this could be a 2 or 3 Day toppler. Well, going by those ENS this cold spell seems to be locked in for at least another 10 Days, or possibly longer.
  20. Well, after 22 long months i can finally say my Essex snow drought is officially over! It's snowing, and it's snowing hard!
  21. I absolutely love Winter. The season is like no other in my opinion. Pure magical...

Are you for real guys or have your standards dropped so much? Are we supposed to be jumping up and down with joy with this watery slushy snow?

I definitely feel shortchanged by winter once again.

  22. Hi Steve. How do you see that UKMO Day 6 chart going forward? i.e - longevity of cold? Also worth noting that this afternoon's GEFS seem to be sniffing out a possible Easterly later next week. Your thoughts? Cheers.
