  1. So my official measurement is 3cm on the grass in Twickenham. Can't complain, it was impressively heavy for an hour or so this morning. Slush fest now. Will be chaos tonight/early tomorrow when it freezes.
  2. Turning heavier again here but quite wet snow. It's going to be insanely icy if skies clear later.
  3. Just passed peak intensity here in Twickenham. Reckon we have about 3-4cm on favoured surfaces. v.mp4
  4. Proud to present Twickenham's 3rd tangible snow event of the winter. This time just about sufficient to make a small margarita! Other two events also attached. Good variety if nothing else! Time to get a new hobby I think!
  5. Rain shower here in Twickenham. Not even a hint of sleet.
  6. I remember that winter quite well even though I was only 12. I was living near Winchester at the time and it was a frustrating month (where I lived at least) because it was dastardly cold but with very little snow. We had maybe 2-3 cm from a front from the east to kick things off then about 3 weeks of endless grey skies, bitter winds and just the odd light flurry. The problem was that the winds were just too south-easterly orientated, coming off a very cold but dry continent. With daily maxes close to zero and very low dew points the initial snowfall barely melted but was never really added to expect for a couple more cm right at the end during the breakdown.
  7. Plenty of thunder coming from that cell to my north-west! Grrrr.
  8. I was sure i heard thunder to my east at about 4pm but now that I am home there doesn't seem much evidence for this and I am beginning to doubt myself. Can anyone confirm? (or confirm that I was indeed mistaken)? Thanks.
  9. Can hear distant thunder from cell to my south (Surrey downs area)
