  1. Mornin Kilties! Well, that's the wind starting to pick up a wee bit now and I heard something go clunk in the garden. Stuff starting to get flung about already! Ferries being cancelled left, right and centre....so, a normal day ahead of us! I'd best check what else Himself has left lying around the garden later on. Batteries are all charged up, and I've already organised oor tea in case power goes off. Catch y'all later!
  2. Just in case there's a drought anywhere south of Skye and the NW Highlands.....I can sell you some water.....I had 53.9mm in the last 24 hours and we are expecting another deluge tomorrow. Want me to keep some aside for you? Special deals for Netweather members!
  3. Mornin' peeps! Hey...it's actually not rainy up here! There's even some sunshine! I finally got my rain gauge working and I've had 53.9mm of rain in the last 24 hours. My friend down the road has had 173mm in the last two days. The road at Cluanie in blocked due to a tree now residing in the middle of it. Monday night looks like a replay of the last few days. Best get some batteries charged up then!
  4. Still blawin' a Hoolie here, rain hasn't stopped all day. Thankfully tomorrow to be a bit drier before the wind and rain return on Monday. Typical spring blast before we get some sunshine.....I hope!
  5. Well, what an interesting day that was, and the night wasn't much better! Lost some roof tiles, the lead at the base of the chimney has an interesting upwards curl and one of our downpipes is missing! We also had a power cut from about 10.30 till about 2.30 am. The rivers that were running through the garden yesterday have somewhat abated, but there's more on the way today. Wellies at the ready.....need to check and see if there's any other damage.
  6. Horizontal rain here! Roof tiles rattling, things flying around the garden, and I don't mean birds! Dontcha just lurve spring?
  7. So much rain....so little sun! And a helluva lot more to come over the next few days. I'll end up with webbed feet at this rate!
  8. Afternoon Peeps! Well, the snaw's had a fright and taken itself off somewhere else. Very sunny and cold, just had a heavy shower, a wee taste of what we'll be getting over the weekend. I know it's a few weeks away, but the weather for the eclipse on the 20th looks like it'll be set fair for up here. I know, I know, a lot can happen in two weeks, bet that we'll end up with heavy cloud and rain and won't see a thing!
  9. Mornin' snaw hunters! Temp is 0.2c, pressure 985, cloudy and overcast aaaaaaaaaaaaand...... IT'S SNAWIN'!!!!!!!!!!!! Proper snaw! Nane o' this graupelly sleety stuff either, proper Snaw! Will try and get some pics up later on. TTFN.
  10. Afternoon Shaw Hunters! We are back to our usual damp, dreich and blawy weather here. Had a few beefy gusts a wee while ago and pressure is dropping quickly. I hear that there may be some white stuff for some next week! There will be a lot of happy peeps on here then!
  11. Had a bit of everything today. Woke at 3.30am with thunderstorms, sleet and hail. Changed to rain, then snow, more thunder, strong winds thrown in for good measure. A wee touch of blue sky now, but still a bit on the chilly side at 0.7c. However, I do feel it's more spring like these days. Must be something to do with the lengthening days I think.
  12. Blue skies in Skye, temp 0.2c had a we shower of something more solid than rain this morning, but all is shiny and bright now!
  13. Had a wee snow shower this morning, followed by sleet and it's freezing! More showers this weekend by the look of things but not enough to worry about.
  14. Yesterday horizontal rain and mini hooley, very mild at 12.4c. Today freezin', hail, sleet, rain, sun, temp struggled up to 4.5c. Gauny bee a bit breezy next week by all accounts, interesting end to February then!
  15. Well, it's been a tad breezy here today, some parts getting gusts of over 60mph. Then we had horizontal rain. It's calming down now and also very mild. More of the same later this week, so back to normal then!
  16. Mornin'Kilties! My, my it's a wee bit nippy lot there this morning', depending on which weather station I consult it's either -2.2c, -2.4c or a teeth chattering -8.8c. Take your pick. Very clear and frosty, blue, blue skies, a lovely day ahead!
  17. Morning Kilties! Calm and cloudy this morning, 4.4c, pressure 1016. Not missing the snow much!
  18. Afternoon Kilties! a nice crisp and cold day here, I doubt I'll see much more in the way of white stuff this winter. I love the crisp sunny days, no wind to blast the skin off your face either....just a lovely clear day!
  19. Afternoon Kilted Ones! Well what happened yesterday? It was absolutely freezin' yesterday afternoon wi' that wind, but then we had a max temp of 4.4c. Then we had a wee fall of the graupelly stuff overnight which made everything look braw! Just a few cm's but the cats love rolling around on it...idiots! And now it's snowing again, temp 0.8c, very light winds, humidity 43%. It looks lovely and isn't really that cold outside either so may take myself out for a wee stretch o' the legs in a wee while.
  20. Mornin'Kilties! Back to the usual mix of sleet/graupel/rain and gales for us today. Gales...just when I don't need them. I have to go over the bridge today. Bear Scotland close the bridge if a midge farts. Just hope I get over and back again before that midge let's one rip!
  21. Rain fairly piddlin' doon noo and it feels kinda raw outside. Temp 2.3c or -1.2c depending on which weather station I look at! Both of them have the sunshiny symbol on them. They lie, I tells you, THEY LIE!
  22. Hi de Hi Kilties! Surely the happiest thread on this forum! Snaw's had a richt wee fright overnight and temps have gone up considerably, now at 2.2. This time yesterday there was a - in front of that figure! Some forecasts say that there will be a rather large dump of snow here next week. I'll take that with a large pinch of salt. There is a mass of cloud bubbling up to the north east but I don't think it'll bring anything worth writing about. Enjoy the white stuff if it comes your way!
  23. Afternoon fellow Happy Kilties! My, haven't we been busy on here? Some crackin' pics in there. I must get the camera out tomorrow before the snow disappears! No further snow to report here at home, but there were some very hefty showers in Portree today. Then the sky cleared. Then the car park froze! Saw a 4x4, ar*e in the air in a ditch this morning, and there was I pootling along in my ancient Golf nae borra at a'! Clouding over again here, but I doubt we'll see the amounts of snow that other parts of Auld Scotia has seen.
  24. We are back to the teeny wee flakes again, but the temp has dropped to -4.4 with a wind chill of -7. Nippy! We may yet get more than just the obligatory icing sugar dusting yet!
  25. Ach, thin graupely, sleety stuff again! Nothing lying, just getting blown away in the wind. Bummer!
