  1. So, who's got a bad dose o' sunburn then? Not me! So much for a heatwave, all we had was light cloud, strong breezes ( aye OK, at least it kept the midges at bay! ) but admitedly it was and still is a good deal warmer than it has been of late.Currently 19.3c, murky and calm so we will be breakfast for the aforementioned midges. So, that was it, was it? Any chance we may see some summer yet up oor way? Apparently there were some thunderstorms yesterday on Skye, not where I live, but it rained overnight. Surprise!
  2. Holy Moley! Where the heck is summer? I swear it was warmer in March. Had a nice enough day yesterday, sun nearly came out and it was warmish too. Back to winter today and I'm wishing I'd put my thermals on! So, when is it going to warm up over our way, could do with a blast of sunshine!
  3. Mornin' all! Well, slap ma face.....I actually saw the sun yesterday! Whoop Whoop! It was a lovely sunrise and we headed off to Snecky for the day. Still no warm though and we did have the occasional shower. This morning started well with another stonking sunrise but cloud has moved in again. Still a bit on the nippy side but I have now switched off the heating and hope not to switch it back on until autumn!
  4. Afternoon all! Blawin' an absolute Hoolie oot there! Did someone mention summer?
  5. Mornin' happy campers! Raining here, how very unusual! Temp is 8.7. Tomorrow looks lovely...not! Are we still in March then? Even I, who is not a huge fan of high temps could do with a blast of vitamin D. I'm told it will improve next week...aye, right! Interesting comments re fibre optics. We wait with baited breath up here for speeds faster than Snail or Halt. We are advised it will be here within a couple of years. Hah! I'll believe it when I see that wee timer thingy whirling around dead fast!
  6. Mornin' Could Kilties! I have returned from my sojourn up north and I return to winter! I've still got the central heating on and the fire in the evening too. So where's this heatwave we're supposed to be getting then? To be honest anything above 12c would be classed as summer so long as it isn't raining and blawin' a hoolie along with it! Currently 11c and the sun has come out. I live in hope!
  7. Been a bit damp over the last few days up here, a wee tate o' sunshine too. Off on hols this weekend ( Orkney! ) and the forecast looks no' too bad at least till early next week. Bring oan the Highland Park and the Dark Island! Oh, and the Orkney Fudge Cheesecake too!
  8. HC.....I want rocket launchers and surface to air missiles on my car to blow the eejits tae b*ggery! Especially camper van drivers!! Basically, no tourist should be out on the road when I am. It's safer for them and stops my blood pressure from taking off. Not a lot to ask for is it? Anyhoo, today I am inside a washing machine....at least that's what it sounds like outside. At work just now, but not seen too many Bonglies ( AKA Touroids ) today. And lo! the wind doth blow....and blow and blow!!
  9. Yesterday was a day of so much gorgeousness....crystal clear blue skies, sunshiney and warm, it's hard to believe that was just a day ago! Horizontal rain, howling gale and freezing! Aye, welcome tae a Skye Summer!
  10. Evenin' all! Temp this morning was 2.5 at 6.30 am and hasn't greatly improved over the day. We've had sleet, rain, hailstones, snow, and sunshine. What will we get tomorrow then??
  11. Mornin' campers! Absolutely Baltic here today. It started off lovely yesterday but off course that didn't last and has been raining since 11am yesterday. More of the same today accompanied by strong winds. It feels more like January than May. Rushes off to switch central heating back on..
  12. Temp plummeted from 8c down to1.2c in the space of an hour and now we have SNOW! Pass the thermals please!
  13. Oh man! Temp down to 1.6 during the night and that wind would cut ye in three! Sunny here, had one horizontal sleet shower earlier on, so we'll see what the rest of the weekend brings! Stay cosy folks!
  14. Mornin' campers! Feelin' the chill today I can tell you! Still dry though, expecting rain, sleet, ice, snow over the weekend. Best not put away the thermals just yet! And switch the central heating back on and light the fire again and an extra blanket on the bed...
  15. And another stonkingly gorgeous day up here! Cloudless clue skies, clear and calm! Aye, I'll take this any day over the crappy stuff we had last weekend!
  16. Today is a day of much gorgeousness! Blue, blue skies and lots of sun after a very nippy night. Temp got down to 0.2c, but what a sunrise we had! The air feels so fresh too, crisp and cool. More of this please!
  17. Gettin' breezy up here again, Cal Mac ferries on amber alert. Come on Spring......lighten up a wee bit eh?
  18. oh Aye, winter's back! Baltic oot there, strong gusts, temp was down to 3.5 this morning. Hail, sleet and snow showers off and on all morning. Come back spring, all is forgiven!
  19. Afternoon Kilties! Sunny and now the wind is picking up a bit here. A bit of a change on the way for tomorrow though when we'll be back to our normal keech spring weather. Anyone who has been on holiday on Skye this week has landed sooooooo lucky!
  20. A day of much dreichness here, however, it does look as if the cloud is lifting a little. I live in hope!
  21. Oh Man! fffffffffffffff........BALTIC! So it seems that winter has returned big time. I drove to Portree through wind, hail, rain, sleet and snow. We had the teeniest glimpse of sunshine a wee while back, needless to say, it didn't last long. That wind would cut ye in three!
  22. Mornin'all! Back to the usual crappy gales and horizontal rain again!Oh how I've missed it....not!
  23. Morning happy campers! What a glorious morning, no cloud.....yes, that's right NO CLOUD! Wall to wall sunshine and lots of white frost. Temp got down to -2 last night and has just crept up to the dizzy heights of -1.8. Looks set to be a grand day to get out and do some serious digging in the garden.
  24. Well blow me, hasn't the weather been rather fabby these past few days? Wall to wall sunshine, but sadly, change on the way tomorrow and I doubt we'll see too much of the eclipse on Friday. Aurora was amazing up here last night, but I live on the wrong side of the island so we saw hee haw up here. Ach well, at least we've had the sun so I'm not complaining!
  25. So, lets see....Friday- gale force winds and horizontal rain. Saturday-gale force wind and horizontal rain. Sunday-light breeze and blue skies! Monday-storm/hurricane force winds and horizontal rain. Tuesday-clear blue skies and sunshine! Wednesday-gale force winds and horizontal rain. Tomorrow....rinse and repeat. Gie us a break will ye? Need some calm, spring weather so we can get our roof tiles fixed!! The weekend looks good though!
