  4. I'd love to get back to Austria this winter......but not booked anything yet. Not feeling confident about Covid this winter and consequently non EU British travellers being banned from Austria again.

  8. Looks like the many campers in Cornwall will have a disturbed night's sleep! Definitely a need for extra guylines and pegs, especially for the more exposed clifftop sites. The Seaview Tipis look particularly precarious!

  13. Or look to Lake Taupo, New Zealand. The Taupo Eruption (around 180AD ish) was the most violent eruption known in the world in the last 5000 years. Mark Bebbington, a Professor in Geostatistics at Massey University, has looked at the probability of another Taupo eruption..... between 0.5 and 1.3 per cent within the next 500 years. "So we're unlikely to see an eruption in our lifetimes," he said. "On the other hand, the same could be said of winning Lotto, and sometimes the low probability comes up."

  17. Arghhh!! torture.....Very envious Carinthian! Kiwi family have really missed their annual Austrian ski trip - Hotel was brilliant and refunded our money very promptly and we're looking forward to rebooking for next year. Hope you manage to get out on the slopes to enjoy the plentiful powder.

I use to live a few miles down the road from here in Waipu Actually switches to other cameras as well ...all in the general area, including one near Marsden point at the entrance to Whangarei harbour......weather looks great today!
