  1. I have a feeling netweather will ask Ian Pennell to do the winter forecast next year!

We're not talking about Ian Brown's forecasts, we all know his agenda (mild rapper to wind people up) this discussion is about the accuracy and skill/knowledge of Ian Pennell. He is a forecaster that has been quite accurate recently but dosent get much credit. I will be looking out for his forecasts and predictions in the next couple of years with great interest

I think he should Karyo, he has been the most accurate with his forecasts in the last couple of years. I know it seems a long way off, but I'm looking forward to the winters 2020 onwards

Nothing to do with what Lassie said its the comments from mokidugway and nemesis. Saying people got carried away???? The cold hasn't even started yet and you are writing statements like you know the outcome!! It's over a week away so wait until the cold arrives and the models stop flip, flopping around before you make such statements

So you can see into the future can you and you?? With your crystal ball. Even the pros are finding this set up difficult to forecast even 5 days out.are you a professional weather forecaster? The arrogance in these statements are astonishing

  5. The CFS may not be the most reliably but it is resolute on a euro high/greenland vortex throughout Dec into Jan. Still, classic El Nino unfortunately.

I thought El Nino had little effect on our winters here in the UK???

  12. I really hate it when people use sob stories to try and win competitions. Win because you're good, not because people feel sorry for you.

  13. OK, I know I get slammed for saying just because its not 30 degrees IMBY global warming is not happening, but if someone told me back in 2000 (when I truly believed we were heating up) the temp will not get any higher (in Cornwall, one of the mildest counties in the Uk) than a measly 20 degrees for the whole of July, August and much of June in 15 years time, during the summer of 2015 I would have laughed in their face. Global warming may be happening else where, but it sure aint happening her...

What's this fascination with BAPS or is it an acronym that we don't know about?

  20. So another poor winter draws closer to ending, thank god it's been another pathetic affair. Seeing the sun recently and the light winds have been lovely. The countdown for summer begins, I hope it's a hot one.

nah, not yet no where near yet, still 7 weeks of winter weather to get through yet. 1st of April we can start thinking about warmth and summer, until then the snow and cold hunt continues, bring on the snow again

Heavy snow, ice days in cornwall = no sign of mild!!!

  22. This weather is about to get tedious, in fact, it already is. The snow all melted by midday - so I would hardly call this a 'cold spell' as the daytime temperatures rise to 6C! The dusting was a nice surprise, but by no means good enough. To make things even more tedious, a very high pressure system is going to sit on us for maybe the whole month!! That means it will be mild and dry :( no storms, snow, thunderstorms, ONLY DRY AND MILD! yuck

Speak for yourself, it's been blooming freezing here, ice days, heavy snow, snow showers etc..welcome to Cornwall, one of the mildest places in the UK
