  1. Great to see a colder GFS 12z but almost sad it didn't do a downgrade just to get my daily dose of schadenfreude at watching people rage.

GFS 12Z looks very bad from mid next week, its awful compared to last nights runs

      No Balls Like Snow Balls

Lol - wonder if there has ever been a suicide

    4. stainesbloke

Lol...! There probably will be tonight if the ECM goes belly up ;) Might get rid of some of the drama queens who really should be in acting, not science

  2. NWP still messing with everyone's heads! Whatever happens, from mild muck to Baltic cold, this has been a highly entertaining period of model watching, made all the better for the motley cast of players who make up the thread. Keep it up, you chaps rock!

  3. I suspect some of the dummy spitters are feeling a tad silly after their model thread tantrums yesterday! Looking better for a lovely second half of winter. Fingers crossed!

    1. D.V.R

That was absolutely ridiculous wasn't it?

    2. Bobby

no different really to getting excited over 1 cold run lol

  4. Love the model thread @ times like this. The analysis, the banter, bickering, dummy spits, toy throwing and tantrums. Love it all! Entertainment at its best!

Thats the beauty of it Steve. Getting involved is part of the fun.

      2 out of 6 isn't bad I suppose.....

Tis the season to be jolly?

  5. Why are people banging on about solar flares in the model output thread? Talk about completely off topic, may as well start reading animal entrails for all the relevance solar flares have.

Lol TAFKAP, glad you saw the funny side. We need a sense of humour after the last few weeks.

Don't you mean The Artist Formerly Known As The Artist Formerly Known As Prince?

    4. TAFKAP

Yes, but my pic is also when he was first known as Prince so I'm mixing it up a bit

  6. I'm only saying it because bushfires in Australia are an incredibly destructive and deadly phenomena. If I were living in Australia I'd be praying for rain and cool temperatures.
  7. I shouldn't think it is too exciting for the people whose homes and businesses could burn down or have already done so.
  8. The madness begins again. Surely the weather Gods won't snatch cold from us again.

    1. Evening thunder

      Evening thunder

There's no cold anywhere near a believable time frame to be snatched away yet though

    2. TAFKAP

I didn't say there was any in a reliable time frame.

  9. Lovely sunrise here in London this morning. Nice to see the clouds lit to orange pearlescent fire instead of gloom and murk.

  10. Hilarious to see people writing off winter already. Get a grip for God's sake, it is December 24th and quite frankly none of the members on this forum can predict the weather in mid January let alone until the end of winter.

Looking at the current output it is, no charts are showing any cold right out to +384. Off course this could all change soon and when it does I'll comment on that.

    3. UV-RAY

Also the CFS charts for January are horrendous.

    4. Nick L

      Nick L

And the long range charts are always 100% accurate of course! And I agree, it's always the same members every year writing winter off a few weeks in.

  11. Vodka but only Polish, Russian or Ukrainian.
  12. I'm starting to think the BBC should just produce a programme called 'Nonce Hunter' where angry mobs armed with farm implements and flaming torches hunt down suspected paedophiles.
  13. Green Christmas coming but no surprise there. White Easters are more common.

      Snowy Easterlies

i think i only remember 1 white easter, and snow was gone by 10am

    3. Aaron

A white Easter would be snow falling and not settling, which wouldn't be too uncommon, so a white Easter with snow just falling might be more common than a white Christmas, but snow on the ground at Easter is unusual, bar March 2008 which was an early Easter.

    4. Eugene

Yes looking green and seasonal with temps around average on christmas day itself, white christmas's aren't the norm in this country

  14. We had a below average start to December, which has never been the best month for cold in the UK and people are still moaning. December isn't and never has been 'the' month for the best winter weather. It doesn't work like that here.

It doesn't matter when people would prefer their cold spell - take it or leave it.

    3. TAFKAP

This false preference for February is a myth. February IS a colder month than December.
