  1. That lot off Belgium looks as though it'll miss us. Flaming typical! I really hope this isn't setting a pattern for rest of Spring/ Summer. I'm going to be seriously peed off if it is.
  2. Clouding up here again. Looks kind of hazy/misty over yonder. Oh, well.....just have to wait and see what happens.
  3. We are all entitled to hope for the type of weather we enjoy; and this is a weather forum after all....and thunder storms have been around since time began. Apart from that, lightning, which is rich in nitrogen is good for crops and all growing things so it's good for us as well. We'd be poorer without them IMO. And.....we owe our very existence to them. Yes, they can be dangerous, but if you take proper care, and respect them you should be fine.
  4. I think the anticipation of possible storms is nearly as good as the storms themselves. The waiting, watching the sky, listening for spherics, feeling the change in atmosphere and the stillness that precedes the storm. Then......that eerie sound of distant rumbles as it approaches. And then.....forks of lightning piercing the gunmetal clouds like sword thrusts. Delicious!
  5. All my weather apps show storms for anywhere between 17:00/20:00 this evening. That's a first! Not brightening up here yet, but I'm hopeful.
  6. Mornin each. Looks like it may be a very interesting day storm wise. Currently it's drizzly and dull in Ippy with a light breeze, and has that 'hopeful' feel to it. A tad muggy but a fresh tang in the air if you get what I mean. Anyway, fingers, toes, eyes and everything crossable is crossed for some stormy action later for all us storm lovers. Have a good (and stormy) POETS day.
  7. Ipswich has a 62% chance of storms tomorrow (late evening) going by the 'Will It' forecasts. I'm trying not to get too excited...but I can't help it. Oooooh! I hope we do get some. Fingers crossed, fellow storm lovers. Night night.
  8. Afternoon each. Been a mixed bag really here. Started off sunny, then it went cloudy (and even looked a bit thundery at one point) now it's sunny and warm again at 12c ish. Why on Earth do the mad thread lot want cold weather now for goodness sake. I want warm days with a touch of humidity and plenty of T&L. Bring it on I say. Have a good day folks.
  9. Its been a lovely day here in Ippy. Sunny and warm with blue sky and a nice breeze near the river. I still have good hopes for plenty of storminess later in the year. Stunning photos and videos posted earlier. I particularly like the electricity pylons with sunrise. I LOVE pylons. I'm odd, I know.
  10. Very dark, humid and raining here in Ippy. As someone said earlier, thunder never feels too far away but nothing here up to now. And keep losing Wi Fi signal. Now that is annoying. Grrrrrr!
  11. Yes.....just been out for my last cigarette and it's feeling a tad humid. Also still and quiet and slightly warmer than earlier in the day. However, I've been feeling a little poorly so I've been feeling chilly all week end. Night all.
  12. Mornin each. Happy Easter everyone. Raining in Ippy and dark, but smells lovely and fresh with a thundery feel. And it's chilly. Hope you all have a nice time whatever you're up to this week end.
  13. Ah! That explains why I couldn't log in. That's good then.
  14. Warm days and lots of night time thunder storms. Temps' in the mid 60s to low 70s (I think) and rain and T&L at night. Bliss.
  15. Afternoon each. Just a very brief visit as I've nothing of interests to say really. Certainly not enough to write epic length posts. Sunny but still a tad cool here in Ippy but pleasant enough for the time of year. Hope you're all ok and enjoying the pleasant weather.
  16. Here is some info' about Littleport, Steve. Lovely place I think and a lot of my ancestors are from here. (That's why I've got webbed toes:D) http://www.information-britain.co.uk/county34/townguideLittleport/I love the bleak but beautiful fens. Hope you have a really good weekend.
  17. Here is the tree we couldn't identify, in full and glorious bloom. I believe it is a type of Californian Lilac but which strain I have no idea. It's very beautiful though.
  18. Mornin each. Lovely and warm and sunny in The Swich at present. Hope it lasts as I'd like to see more of the park we visited on Wednesday. Have a fab POETS day folks.
  19. Cheers Jax. I cleared cookies etc and it seems to have worked. It's been a lovely day here....sunny and warm in the sun. Hope you all had a good un. My other niece visited us with her 96,000,000 kids. ( honestly, that's what it feels like ) so had a good catch up and planned my Going-Back-To-Naaaarich campaign. I'm now totally kn****red. So night night all and see you tomorrow.
  20. I know this is off topic....but I keep being asked to sign in. How do I rectify that folks, please?
  21. Afternoon each. Lovely, sunny day here in Ippy but a bit cloudy now. And it's still a bit chilly in the shade. But it's still early and it'll soon be Easter.....traditionally a time for a weird mix of weather I reckon. Anyway, after much swearing and cussing last night about iPad losing Wi-Fi signal (and believe me, the language was enough to make a Bankside Bawd blush) I have it sussed. All it needed was for me to switch off and unplug the hub for a few seconds, plug back in...switch on and all was well. Hope all of you are ok. And all on here who have had a less than easy time at the moment (and there have been a few of us) I sincerely hope things begin to improve for you all. And it's still sunny.
