Hopefully I keep strolling up the garden and look to the South/Southwest,but nothing as yet.The only thing lighting the sky up here is the beautiful moon which looks almost yellow tonight. Not a cloud in the sky to be honest!!.
Just goes to show what 15 miles or so can do to weather events!!Like yesterday, didn't you have a decent storm, when all I got was 3 distant rumbles and 30 seconds of heavy rain?.
the East Midlands haven't faired much better to be fair. Most storms develop just to the north of here over the Peak District or veer either side just like yesterday.Last good storm here was June 28th 2012.
a friend of mine has just posted a video on facebook. She lives in Langley Mill,Notts showing the view of the storm over Manchester from her back garden.Impressive lightning to say the least.
I took these photos around 1.30 today as a brief storm passed North of Derby. It did produce a few distant rumbles of thunder and literally 30 seconds of torrential rain!!.Better than nothing I guess.
Hopefully Supacell,I've got a 6 month old son who's never heard thunder before.Would love him to hear it and see his reaction!!.I'd like to see some action too mind.
Another dull dank day with outbreaks of steady drizzle and a chilly easterly breeze. At least we beat yesterday's max of 11.0c with a dizzy 11.9c today.Thankfully we also saw the Spitfire over the local steam rally which was decimated by the 37mm of rain since 6pm Friday.
