  1. Potential for a little bit snow for a large part of the south west on Thursday. Potential being the operative word, could just be sleety rain the higher you go the whiter obviously. How much is up for debate but the chance is there.
  2. Nice to see you! A lot of us flock in just for the winter before we depart for warmer climes in spring. The regular posters just about put up with the winter tourists Lots going on here not least issues with Beka's hedge maintenance. But weatherwise looks good for cold seasonal week. Looking forward for your weather insight and your unique use of the English language
  3. Mmmmm well never trust an app they say. So which one do I have less trust in! Either way it's a cold Thursday. Will bring my monthly average down a smidge
  4. Phew. Hill walkers beware on Thursday. Great Mis Tor is around 530 metres above sea level so indeed a prime spot!
  5. Good stuff. Let's hope it's not a dip in for just a weekend with a return in February. Incidentally there was a signal for snow above 300 metres here on dartmoor for a fair few hours but that has been downgraded to light fluff snow for a couple of hours. So indeed that low pressure is France bound! Some good frosty nights ahead!
  6. Well after my weather station trauma sorted itself out its back to winter now. Sure alot of folk will be venturing back in with the slightest hint of winter weather (yes I am exhibit A). Funny how this upcoming cold spell almost mirrors last december's one in terms of date! FWIW i can't see much snow for this region in the next week but it will be good to have some fresh arctic air in!!!
  7. Yes they favour the current ECM solution and while mentioning the GFS solution they don't think its a runner. The location of the low pressure on Sunday seemingly a key part....or not
  8. Hi everyone. So yes the whiff of a frost potentially in thr next couple of weeks starts to wake the winter posters! however I'm here as i have issues with my weather station. Its dying on its weeble! have a froggitt wh3000se weather transmitter and station. Had it for 4 years. Its linked to my ecowett account. Sadly parts of the transmitter is starting to fail the temperature gauge is breaking down intermittently and the wind gauge has now just gone So I'm off to get a replacement tomorrow but what of all my weather records. Do they get wiped with a new station? As said I'm ecowitt so I'm hoping I can just add a weather station to it and carry on? Or should I download all the info incase it disappears. Any help would be great
  9. Hi everyone. I have a froggitt wh3000se weather transmitter and station. Had it for 4 years. Its linked to my ecowett account. Sadly parts of the transmitter is starting to fail the temperature gauge is breaking down intermittently. Firstly does anyone know I'd I can replace the temperature sensor. Secondly if I just brought a new transmitter (actual weather station) would that link to existing reciever if it was on the same frequency? Also what of my ecowitt account can i just add a new weather station to it so i don't lose all my data. Thanks All
  10. Well.....may of spoken too soon. Looks like some low pressure firing up next weekend on tonights output
  11. Annual trip across the minch to Barra a week Saturday so far forecast looking good. Still could change mind. Looking good midge conditions then for a few days
  12. Sleet here. Classic lamp post watching material! Temp 2.5c but DP at 0.5c Weather suggests an hour of heavy snow from midnight before it goes to rain.
  13. Now hit 10c! I just think its the milder air has encroached from the Atlantic. We have a ESE wind direction. Also we never really got that cold yesterday the lowest we got was 1.6 with a DP of 1.1. Just shows when it comes to competing air masses it really just does come down to small distances to have huge meteorological differences
  14. Like to think you're right chap but we're not that far from the Tamar estuary (a big radiator) and as much as they can't be trusted both met office and bbc apps suggest rain with sleet at a push. Mind you I can jump in the car drive 5 minutes towards Princetown and probably find some tomorrow morning up there
