  1. as the uk braces for more warmth, i've seen video of snow flurries in Las Vegas today what the dickin's is going on
  2. The Mail... surely they can't be serious !! - it'll be t-shirt shorts and barbs... next weekend
  3. hunt for cold? maybe it's hunt for summer now. It's duly arriving.. dusting off the 'ol shorts for the first time this year
  4. now there is talk of mild Feb records being broken. That will take some beating.. but i can't remember the year It topped 70f around parts of the south-west and people were on beaches sunbathing, and it was shorts and t-shirt conditions
  5. in the MAD thread at the moment, it's pretty much R.I.P to this winter there is talk of opera singers clearing their throats and stuff ohh well, not so bad, some pleasant outdoor weather coming up maybe a blizzard in June
  6. some people have described the lack of storms this winter as boring. Well, if i get anything above 45mph, i get roof damage, and water coming in. So, keep the storms away. Hopefully, i get the roof sorted this summer, ready for the day after tomorrow storms of winter 19/20
  7. could be a taste of spring in the air by the end of next week mild and sunny by day.. but cold at night. large day/night temp ranges are a sign of spring
  8. on westcountry live just now, they had a report, because of an incident Man died after tree fell on his car https://www.itv.com/news/westcountry/2019-02-08/driver-left-with-life-threatening-injuries-after-tree-falls-on-moving-cars/ Also mentioned Met Office removed the yellow wind warning yesterday... but it's back now
  9. so i flick on a local news bulletin, female reporter from Penzance.. massive thick coat on, and a massive scarf wrapped around her neck. So is Penzance -11c or +11c right now. Friggin 'ell, it's mild Penzance... not Siberia
  10. not sure here, or the moaning thread, but here goes. we all know the track record of the 30 day forecast.. then i went onto the BBC website, and read another climate change article.. again from the Met Office, where they quote 90 percent confidence, but here they are talking about years into the future. It does seem a little strange https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-47144058
  11. yeah, they decided to have a name change, and they haven't told the local buses, that still say 'atlantic village' - it's still there they are called Affinity Devon now... which i think is a rubbish name
  12. you know things are bad... watching episodes of You've Been Framed, to get some cheer hopefully, winter ain't over yet... stormy incoming for Friday
  13. great innit.. Darren Bett on the beeb forecast - 50 to 70mph winds on Friday, but at least it'll be mild. Smile at the end... and then Fiona says 'thanks very much' Yeah, thanks very much.. probably going to have to get the roof repair guy out again
  14. Devon did well yesterday? not all of us got that lucky Just a dusting from 24 hours ago, then the back edge cleared The dusting was still there at dawn this morning... but all gone by 10am That's all folks
  15. radar is disappointing, yellow is heaviest, no deep oranges or red's - big holes in the precip, right where they put the amber warning 12 months on, i still remember Feb / March 2018 i won't be remembering this event in 12 months time
  16. in time for evening rush hour... bigger flakes, it may be starting to get heavier
  17. glad i got out there, to enjoy it for 5 mins. The snow turned to drizzle. damn and blast it
  18. frost is lifting fast, but.... a few flakes now blowing the wind.. let's get out there !!
  19. frost is lifting pretty fast, but then i guess it always does, when it's cloudy above
