Been in central Peterborough most of the day, it’s felt very close all day but dark clouds seem to be just to the west of us. Think we’ve just missed the fun!

Covering now in Peterborough. Radar suggests sleet for the last hour or so but I dare say it’s been all snow but only just checked!

Light snow in St Ives (Cambs) for the majority of the day on site. Light rain towards lunchtime but now slightly heavier snow. Cameras at home in Peterborough show light snow but nothing settling at either location.

Sting Jet - enhanced localised winds as higher winds above make it down to the surface. Could be looking at 90 - 100 mph gusts if it occurs.
Thank you sir.
Sounds troublesome to say the least

Long time lurker of not much knowledge but seeing posts about a “stringing jet” could be a potential for my area, Peterborough.
What is this and I’m assuming it’s not good news with some of the images posted above. What should one expect from this?

Next 12 hour timetable:
- Indian takeaway.
- Watch West Ham take another 3 points.
- Match of the day.
- Quick 2 hours lamppost watching.
- Wake up 7am, open curtains.
Cry or smile - TBC.
Hopefully your second point is wrong. ️️

What a day in Peterborough.
Work day but out delivering all day. Snow started as soon as I got to work at 1pm and stopped around 8pm.
Periods of extremely heavy snow at least 2 or 3 times. Most intense snow I’ve seen this far south. Epic day. I’d say there’s at least 6 inches in some areas.
Thankful to have been in the pivot point. Really amazing.- 5

Seems the apps have removed all the snow potential for the wee hours, to be discarded and nowcast/lamppost watch?

Been snowing in Peterborough for the last hour or so. Settling on non soaked surfaces but not especially heavy.

Peterborough looking like it’s still in the sweet spot?

8 for me. Not mad enough to go looking for it miles away, but I will lamppost watch and scream like a child when it does.

Interesting times ahead!
I generally only frequent for the winter time on the forum and do thoroughly enjoy threads like these where it is relatively easy to work what is a good indicator.
Excited for the months ahead!
