    Met O has put out the weather warning for us on Thursday and Friday for disruptive snow. Fingers crossed.

    Not expecting much this upcoming cold period. Its probably gonna stay dry all the way through here, expecting to be another dry week in my neck of the woods.

    Meanwhile across the Atlantic, Denver is currently snowing. EarthCam - Denver Cam WWW.EARTHCAM.COM Nice big flakes too!! I gonna put it to my side screen and pretend its a window looking out!!

    Supposed to be a sunny day today according to met O office forecast, seems the clouds rolling in now.

    Just a sugar coating of snow here after night's poor performance. I prefer the last months cold spell over this one. We did well the last one.

    It is trying to snow in Chorley Town centre now.

    The sun is setting and the temps should be dropping like a stone now.

    Home grown shower has sprang up over Barrow, Cumbria. Never seen that before!! Pretty sure there will be surprises like this some point today and Thursday.

    Update: Last few frames in the radar maybe showing shower movements further east and also the sea is getting active as well.

    Just looked out of the window and I was actually thought it was snowing but it turns out to be foggy!!

    That Fleetwood one seems to fizzling out but fingers crossed for the Irish Sea produces more overnight. Enough to reach us.

    GFS has the early NYE storm further north now. Winter is still on. I bet you don't see these during the Spring/Summer anyway.

    GFS showing some stormy weather across Southern England, perhaps S Wales on NYE on this run: Two nights ago the stormy conditions were further north. GFS this time showing tracking south but bit less stormy this time.

    GFS showing possible stormy weather on the 31st Dec: Could see gusts upto 80mph in Ireland, N. Wales and NW England according to this run. Yikes!!

    Merry Xmas everyone!! Next week weather is gonna be interesting stormy weather wise. I hoping for a good storm with actual gales, we havn't had a good storm for a long time. As for cold prospects I hoping for a cold spell in the new year.

    Looking like a stormy end to this year next week!! Named storm maybe?? I know its a bit late for me to post the 12z GFS but its there.

    Hopefully ridge further north into Iceland/Greenland, forcing the low pressures over Scandinavia to go south.

    All of the snow cover around my area will be gone by Monday. In fact I probably won't be able to see snow cover around my area for a long time now. Its really good to taken pictures of it before it all melts by Monday. I really enjoyed this cold spell, especially this week with the snow on the ground.
